@milomell I wonder if winning at last place is a huge deal (if the only real competitors are Sony and MS). Say we swap PS3 & 360 sales figures, are you really losing when you sell 75 million consoles, as opposed to 78.5 million? Sure you didn't make as much money, but unless your console cost a lot to make (like PS3 did at first), you're still making crap loads of money for your company.
@AventusAretino @Figby5 Now I'm not disagreeing with you mocking @Figby5 for his statement on MS being amateurs, but he isn't really wrong using "Microsoft are" since companies can be considered collective nouns.
However do continue to mock based on the fact that his/her statement of opinion was "spoken" as if it were fact. I don't believe either are amateurs, but MS def can't be amateurs having loads of money; MS is valued at ~$235B as compared to ~$18B for Sony according to Forbes.
@Fr0oTy @blkgto I agree, but it would be more convincing to me to buy more PC games if they were actually developed with PC's in mind, rather than console ports. Sure they get some higher rez graphics but a decent amount of non-pc exclusives come with with editions that are not at all optimized to truly take advantage of the gaming 'puter hardware.
@Double-Ego Love Steam, but somethings are not comparable:
*Steam allows for mods which increase games playability. -- not sure if modding would be that "usable" with a controller, could be though
*Steam isn't the only service on PC's , there are actually alot of places to get games on PC's this means COMPETITION which means good value for consumers. -- There isn't really competition on any private devices. When Vavle makes a Steambox are they going to let you install Origin or U-Play. Newp.
*Steam offers great prices, sales and value, Xbox One will not (cause there is no competition) -- MS did say they would start offering free games, so some little consolation.
*Steam accounts can be accessed from an unlimited number of different computers and thus you can install your game everywhere. (not possible with Xbone) -- You can, in fact, take your Live account to any device and log into to play anything from your collection. Just like Steam, you can install those, but you can only log into Steam on one device at a time (I know, offline play. yada yada)
*Steam is entirely digital, Xbone is not. -- Pretty sure they said they'd be having digital copies at launch of games, so Xbone is fully digital, as well as hardcopy enabling. At least that was my understanding.
@Katz @ngoss Haha. I admit, it's got TV focus an par with gaming, but it's not like 360 isn't a streaming devices. The only diff between the two consoles is optional (not forced) cable integrations.
Like 50% (around) of Netflixes traffic came from game consoles. You can't say gamers don't watch multimedia.
@bunchanumbers @Dannystaples14 @Katz @ngoss It's not replacing anything, it's giving people the options of using one device rather than 14 remotes, like an amped up Boxee
