I'm not alone in saying this: Both PSVR and NMS will plummet in popularity if there is no compatibility between the two--it will be one of the most disappointing, most missed golden opportunities for new hardware and software to align. It will be devastating. Sony needs a killer app to sell this new tech, and Hello games needs something more than a 2D television to properly show an infinite universe. I am beyond bummed about their absence at GDC. The headset launches months after the game, effectively killing its buzz. By October most will have forgotten about the game, especially the general public. What a lament I feel. It's like watching a loved one walk into highway traffic and you can't warn them. Again, such a wasted opportunity. Maybe the most wasted opportunity in gaming since Half Life 3.
If there's one thing I like more and more about CDPROJEKT is their determination to make veteran development companies like Bethesda obsolete. Their passion and ambition is virile and non-complacent, which is essential for sustainability in the future. After the success of TW3, they actually act disappointed in themselves, which is awesome to see. Bethesda on the other hand gave us the worst, most dumbed down Fallout ever, added with a superiority attitude and no responses addressing these complaints.
Watch out AAA devs, this company is coming to drink your milkshake. I'm really hoping that 2077 will be incredible. I think it will. And it might completely take over Fallout in terms of delivering a true hardcore RPG with actual depth and decision making, not just killing everything that moves with reused songs from the prior installment.
Very surprised nobody has mentioned No Man's Sky apparently not being VR ready. Maybe they'll use the time between June and October to patch it. Hopefully. But skeptical.
