[QUOTE="Blackbond"][QUOTE="poopinloop32"][QUOTE="Blackbond"]Flop confirmed? Please man damage control confirmed.. Can anybody name me one bad 2D Mario side scrolling platformer on a Nintendo system? Mario 1-3, Super MarioWorld 1 and 2, New Super Mario Brothers are all amazing games. Even if you could find me a bad one that majority are still above greatness.Bread_or_Decide

Super Mario Brothers 2 floped

According to who you? I'm sorry you didn't like Doki Doki Panic (cough) er um Super Mario Bros 2. I mean it was such a flop that the Japanese demanded the same Super Mario Bros 2 that the U.S got. Face it man you can't name me a bad one so why would you even consider this anything less then AA?

Super Mario Bros. 2 was a flop based on the ending alone. Besides that it had horrid gameplay and was too much of a departure from the series. Mario Bros. 3 is proof, they basically got rid of all the crap part II did and brought the series back to its roots.

The Super Mario World is proof that it wasn't, since so many things for 2 found its way into it.

I find the people hating on Mario 2 especially funny since it was this month's "Greatest Game of all Time" in Game Informer.

No they don't. Both N64 and Xbox failed to beat the PS console at the time.

Yes, they do.  The title is Early AAAs mean nothing.  Not, "Early AAA's not required to win generation".

Mario 64 and Halo are highly loved today.  Mario 64 basically created the 3d platformer and without Halo, there would be no Xbox 360.  I believe that means quite a lot, not nothing.

IS there any 1st generation PS or PS2 game that people are dying for the sequal, still highly regard the original?

Were in system wars...everything means about the generation

System Wars was around during the PS2 obvious reign.  If it was only about winning the generation with sales, why did anyone post at SW during that time?

PS2 vs Xbox. :|

Who says the PS2 was inferior to the XBOX? Maybe we need to define what the TC meant by inferior, because I didn't feel like the PS2 was inferior to the XBOX.

I was talking about a system with a more acclaimed game library

I owned a Sega Saturn.  I kept reading about the amazing 2d games for the Saturn in Japan and how it crushed everything else out.  I never got to play those games.

yea, I play VC games more. Is it because I only have Wii Sports? :DTjeremiah1988

I actually own Elebits and Zelda, but Wii Sports and VC get all the attention.  I'm a sucker for a random game of bowling.

I would have given MP around 9.5.  RE4 would be the only game I would give 10 that generation.  As soon as I beat it, I wanted to play it again.  That hasn't happened to me since the SNES days.

[QUOTE="swaginator"][QUOTE="Basinboy"]Just like how the PSX and the Sega 32X weren't self-ownage. Wait a minute...Hammerofjustice
Or the slimline ps2 or ds lite. Oh wait.

slim ps2 and ds lite didn't add any new features. owned

Didn't PS2 add ethernet on later models?

Anyone who owns an original DS can say the DS Lite was vastly superior in the visual department because of screen brightness.  The original DS is basically unplayable once you have a DSlite.

Don't get me wrong, I love my wii but its nintendo's past games are the only thing keeping it from collecting dust. Namely, DKC and Streets of Rage. When is something good coming out?? Ive already beat zelda on gamecube so theres no reason for me to play it again
killantro

The same case is true with me, except I lost interest in the Wii version of Zelda 10 hours in at the underwater temple and haven't felt compelled to touch it in weeks.
