@BARRICADE_28 I bought an Xbox around 2007 and never bought a PS3 either. I'm right there with you though, Microsoft hasn't shown to be very friendly towards indie games and this DRM/online only garbage is laughable. Its not that I'm head over heels in love with Sony, but I refuse to support Microsoft's super arrogant stance that they can treat customers the way they are and expect the cash to roll in. In the end I always have my trusty PC to fall back on until the consoles drop in price and establish themselves, but I'm hoping that Microsoft changes its mind and takes a step forward...for now though it looks as though MS has some REAL knuckleheads making the big decisions.

@hosedandhappy You obviously don't see the bigger picture here: In past console releases the new features made the consoles more desirable. Other than graphics alone, are you seriously excited about anything the new Xbox is bringing to the table? Let's go through the list: It will be very expensive, require to be always on, won't support used or last gen games, will require a subscription, the games will cost more, and it will have built in Kinect (Not new and gimmicky at best) as well as a Blu-Ray player (Again, not new, most people already have a blu ray player, this isn't 2005). Sounds like an expensive headache to me, I'll be gaming on my PC and whatever console appeals to me most, but Microsoft's next Xbox won't be it.

@hosedandhappy Its the principle of the matter, Microsoft has grown too big for its shoes and thinks it can shovel its crappy requirements down everyone's throat regardless of what the gaming community wants. I'm sorry, but I don't feel the need to 'check in' with an online service every time I want to relax at home, internet or no internet. Call me old fashioned, but there used to be this thing called 'privacy' people used to have. When everything I do is monitored because its 'always online', I don't appreciate my personal information and demographic patterns being broadcast over the planet to 3rd party information collects (Almost every company shares your information these days). Better yet, I'll keep my privacy and Microsoft can suck it, I don't need Big Brother in my living room.

I don't understand, how is selling 3 million copies unsuccessful? I thought this was a great reboot and enjoyed the game, but its likely they need to work on their business model more if 3 million copies isn't cutting it. Perhaps a price cut could lure in more buyers?

Do you often buy a product with poor features just because of the ramifications it might have for the future of an industry? In my original post I said I don't care about how much it costs because if it has these kinds of features then I won't be buying it. Why is that hard to understand? I can't control what features Microsoft puts into its consoles, and so by not purchasing it, I vote with my wallet. I understand what the precedent is, but what can I do to change it as a customer other than simply not buy it? I support products which I like and will use, not the other way around. Obviously your condescending tone and poorly written replies were not worth the clarification. Try reading this again, and then realizing that you'

@rolla020980 You also forget that not everyone is able to afford a premium priced console on TOP of internet, a Live subscription, games, DLC...etc. Gaming is becoming more and more a thing of the privileged, and it shouldn't be. When I was a kid I could play Nintendo and buy games on an allowance because it was affordable and the greed factor was low...now I can barely afford to buy games/consoles with a full-time job, does that sound right to you?

What is it with Microsoft these days? They alienate their customers for the sake of profit and tell us to #Deal with it. Let's not forget the 'Red Ring of Death' crisis just a few years back either, I knew dozens of people who had to get their Xbox replaced AGAIN and AGAIN! And now THIS? Wow, they are HELL bent on pissing people off this time around. Good luck Microsoft, this time next year you'll be wishing the internet had never been invented.

@Serpentes420 @no_pants_4_u I'm pretty similar, I'm not a big fanboy and usually own a couple of consoles with no real 'favorite'. As you pointed out, Sony seems to be making the right moves this time around, I guess we'll see what happens this holiday season =)
