[QUOTE="Erebyssial"]Since when is every girl obsessed with movies? :|RK-Mara

That's a good question. And at least my female friends don't know about bluray.

They don't know about Blu-ray now, but they will. Most movie rental chains such as Blockbuster and Hollywood videos are now adding Blu-ray to their inventory.

The only real things that interest a girl that are releated to gaming are the Wii, DS, or Guitar Hero/Rock Band. At least that's how it works for my girlfriend.cyborgjak427

I am not talking about what games/consoles a girl prefers. I am talking about which consoles impresses a girl more. There's no denying that when a girl knows that you have the most powerful gaming console as well the best HD player, she's bound to be more impressed with you than with a lemming or a sheep. Sure she might like the Wii or DS more, but the mere fact that you have a PS3 shows that you have a life outside of gaming, the kind of life she's more than happy to share with. Also, shallow or not, women are impressed with wealth. People knock the PS3 for being expensive, but girls see a sign of wealth as a plus.

err no gaming machine will get you a girl. . . that is unless you have Guitar Hero that game is a chick magnet for sure that and Wii play at partys we always whip out GH3 and get a few games goin over some drinks with hilarious results and most of the players are chicks:D and they school the guys at it :P big_smoke_666

Sounds cool and all. Girls like romance more than games, though, and to them, watching a movie while holding hands or cuddling is more romantic than even playing Guitar Hero.

[QUOTE="redfield_137"]Haha, nice thread. It really made me laugh but in all seriousness I think it depends on the type of girl. Most girls I know or have met recently are more excited about the 360 or Wii. redfield_137

Did you show them movies they'd like to see on BLu-ray?

Damn, I thought this was a joke thread. Guess I should have read more than the initial post. Ummm I really doubt most girls care about Blu-ray. They might say something along the lines of it being better than HD-DVD but I doubt they would knock back watching a movie simply because it isn't blu-ray. But I guess if they were superficial they would probably be impressed that you have a console that can play movies that look better than a normal DVD or HD-DVD. But they would have to be really superficial to be impressed by that.

You can take it as a joke, if you like:) Actually, I am not really talking about what gaming systems girls like. I am talking about which systems impress a girl more.

I disagree. Just because a girl is more impressed with a guy who seems well off doesn't mean that she's superficial. In my hypothical story, the girl did think about if the guys are nice or not, before she thinks about materialism.

When friends first saw my PS3, they just said " you're rich.. " or something along those lines. People I guess are easily impressed by materialistic shiny things. Wierd ehh?tmntPunchout

Women, through evolution are taught to go for guys that can provide food, shelter, etc. for her. In this day and age, material goods can signify to a girl how well the guy can provide for her. It's in her DNA.

But if you have Blu-ray, you gotta admit, it has a better chance of impressing than DVD.

il-cattivo

Wouldn't you think the quality of the movie itself is more important than how the picture looks?

How about the quality of the movie AND good-looking pictures? That's Blu-ray for you. Have a cake and eat it, too.

The cake is a lie. :P

Anywho, fair point. However, what if the girl wanted to watch something like Pulp Fiction on Blu Ray (I don't know if Pulp is on Blu Ray yet, just making a point), and you had to tell her that it hasn't been released yet?

I dont' think it's on Blu-ray yet. You can always tell her there is a huge selection of other movies she can choose from. Chances, there'll be other movies on BLu-ray that she'd like.

So it's come down to this? Arguing about which console gets you more poontang? I really didn't see this one coming.... :|turaaggeli

It comes down to the value of a console in all aspects of a gamer's life, girls being one of them. Girls are very important part of any guy gamer, actually. If the gamer wants to reproduce, that is.
