@marting265 @pawel04 @nu1mlock I understand that you'd prefer a console because your friends has one. I mean, it's always more fun to play with friends.

Graphics isn't everything the PC has to offer of course, that was only one thing I brought up. I also mentioned the much cheaper games, the ability to play with whatever controller you want.

You said you wanted a big collection and that a PC was to expensive. I'm just saying that games are a lot cheaper and even if you'd upgrade your PC every two years (again, you do not need to!), you'd still save money.

It's also possible to connect your PC to your TV, making sure that you can sit on the couch with your friends and enjoy splitscreen games or whichever games you enjoy.

PC also has the most variety of games, but I'm assuming you meant the console-exclusives. You're right about that though, there are a few console-exclusives that I'd love to play, but it's absolutely not worth the cost of a whole console for only a few games.

@JOLIVERW @nu1mlock Oh, sure! I'm not saying consoles are bad, I've had them all (but sold all except the Wii because my daughter likes it). I'm just saying PC gaming isn't as expensive as some want you to believe - in fact, it's a lot cheaper including purchase of the PC and the rare upgrade.

@marting265 @Prats1993 That makes no sense. A PC which is more powerful than the upcoming consoles costs less than they will (not including monitor, but we all know you could use a TV. If not, a monitor isn't something you'd "upgrade") when they are released.

There's no need to upgrade a PC every two years as some want you to believe and whenever it's time to upgrade it's cheap.

If one would take the prices of PC games and all the digital distributor's sales into account, then you'd save more money by building a PC and upgrading it every two years (even though you don't need to) than purchasing a console.

After all, PC games are at least 20€/20$ cheaper at release and can be bought for a lot less if you'd wait a month or two on sales.

This means that you'd get better graphics and framerate, you get to pick how to play (controller/mouse+keyboard/joystick/etc) and you get a much bigger collection of games - for less money -- especially in the long run.

@Toysoldier34 @nu1mlock Yeah, I guess it wasn't the best idea. :P But they COULD give them what SPS have already seen, which means there would be still be a lot to do before it's finished.

@Maxx_the_Slash @nu1mlock I see you didn't get the part where I meant THQ COULD say that there was nothing done with the game, I never said that was the case.

But no, Bethesda would never publish South Park even though they might have a good relationship with Obsidian.

In order for Obsidian to publish the game themselves they have to buy the rights to do so first. And they won't.

So South Park wants more than 2 million dollars because of this. Can't THQ just say "fine, but there's nothing done with the game kinda" and give them back nothing, knowing that no one except THQ would take on publishing a game for South Park?

Good luck with having F2P-games on Xbox 360 with long certification times for updates, expensive updates and a point-system which forces you to pay for more than you want.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping it'll be great, but the above makes me think it won't be that profitable on the system.

@Avenger1324 @poopinpat Yeah, except not everyone owns a computer capable of running the games on the "regular" PC and might want a console-like experience while still taking advantage of the great Steam-sales, free cloud saving, voice-chat, online play (looking at you Microsoft) and being able to play the games they purchase on both the "console" (Steam-box), Windows, Linux and OSX (as long as the game supports the OS).

@DeViLzzz There will always be people who purchase games right when they are released (or have them pre-ordered).

I'd say, having sales "early" doesn't do anything except letting people who would otherwise wait months and months to actually purchase the game sooner.

@buccomatic @jchamman While it might not have an i7, this is - like you said - just a prototype, and from one manufacturer only. There will be lots more.
