@pez2k_ also...back in the 90s..consoles were a lot different from pcs in relation to programming/development as compared to todays consoles...making a console any similar to a pc doesn't make it any better..it just makes it easier and cheaper, and similar to a pc..which defeats the purpose..Maybe I'm old but I remember when consoles didn't overheat...or crashed..or had to have the system restored after a power outage. They each had many exclusive titles..and if their were ports..they were basically a completely different game. Seems like you can bassicaly buy every game released on 360..on the pc unless MS or some other company decides that the system needs a franchise to be able to sell consoles
@pez2k_ by pc in a box I meant its the easiest thing besides a pc to program for and not an actual pc..in a box...it resembles the pc's development environment the most compared to any of the other consoles...the ps3 doesn't actually have 8 cores though...the benefits of the 360s simplicity doesn't really shine as well now that there are a an abundance of game engines already made for the ps3...lot of the hard work is already finished now. I'm just beginning in development but if I can..I want to stay as far away from anything ms as I can..and its hard because its a lot easier/cheaper than anything else..and I think that's a problem...I really hate them..ha
@Naylord ha I wish it were possible...but yes..so many devs are kicking themselves with microsofts "service"...its unfortunate that the easiest platform to develop on is backed by thee worst company to have that power...thee worst!
@Haasdude 360 is the easiest to write for..its a computer in a box...and XNA is a good stepping stone for the community....this is why there is no shortage of indies...but ms obviously takes advantage of that
@Tekcor @Haasdude exactly..I'm not saying sony or nintendo are in the clear..but microsoft was the first to charge for online gaming..and compeitition can take its toll..seriously..ms are just an american corp that doesn't give a rats ass about anything morally correct
