@rene9ade520 well given that your argument is centering around gaming, the kinect does not really add value to your core gaming experience. even if it does, it is up to you whether you think it is 100 dollars worth. and seeing that it is a mandatory inclusion is a little off putting.
secondly, the 30-60 dollar value you are quoting for the headset is inaccurate. at best it is a 20 dollar value given the sound quality it will give you (Microsoft themselves priced the headset at $25 when it was initially announced that it wont be part of the package). a basic headset is also part of the ps4 package.
also, your theories on up-close and distant graphics are unfounded. only when we will see actual game footage comparison of a common title will things become more apparent. if you read reviews such as those on anandtech.com, you will find that the PS4 has the simpler architecture to work with and on face value delivers more power.
lastly, your 4k argument is absolutely baseless. the ps4 is capable of delivering 4k resolution. as for gaming, neither console would be capable of handling gaming at 4k.
i don't mean to attack all of your points, but it is just that you are making points which are either absolutely false or unfair.
@lostastsea22485 @outlawoftorn @rene9ade520 yes i agree with you. the news portion of gamespot should be unbiased and they can voice any popular opinions through op-ed pieces.
quite often I too get the feeling that gamespot's news portion is not really news, but twisted reports which tend to mislead people (e.g. their latest article about sony starting a paid tv service is deliberately molded to make it look like it matters to console gaming when it has little to do with it.)
and it happens for both MS and Sony articles and thus looks like an obvious ploy to start irrational debates and drive traffic.
@instigator81 well this would be news if Sony had announced that playstation 4s would have TV pass throughs and exclusive playstation tv content etc.
but this is simply an application similar to tons of other sony apps like crackle etc. which are available on a multitude of devices. so i do not really see a change in sony's philosophy here, nor do i see how this news is relevant specifically to the playstation 4.
@Alucard_Prime @outlawoftorn absolutely. but sony is a pretty large business with plenty of divisions (e.g. tvs, movie production, music etc.) no one knows where this project came out of, but it is unlikely to be a playstation product since its a global service available on multiple devices.
and yes it is unfortunate the way people react to news without taking a moment to realize what it really means and how it does or does not affect them.
@foxbow @outlawoftorn sony has a whole division called sony pictures. it doesn't mean they put a foot in the mouth of gamers every time they release a movie. its not like they have asked naughtydog to start a TV channel!
@Sorciere_basic how does support for a piece of software turn it into a cable box?
by your logic this means the PS3 will also be a cable box since it will support this app too. but we all know the PS3s sitting in our houses won't magically transform into one :p
