@rasterror: I completely agree. I laughed at the very idea of buying an X1 only a couple of years ago. Now it's my favourite console of this gen (i previously owned a PS4 & Wii U). As usual, it's all about the games, and the Xbox has them for me this time around. The PS4 has a few greats (Until Dawn, UC4), but otherwise heavily relies on the multiplats & PS3 re-releases--which i already played through many times coming primarily from the PS3 last gen. I really hope Microsoft keeps the momentum going with the A-B tier games, and takes a few risks every now & then with games like Rare Replay & Recore. Both games are very much in the B tier, but that's just fine with me, so long as they're given a chance.
@yukushi: Well it's hard to say whether it led to more sales or not. On its initial release, probably not, but perhaps its been an enticing game for perspective X1 owners throughout the past year.
Regardless, buy & play the game now :) You're getting the best console version of an amazing game, so make it priority 1.
@nzowa100: Trust me, this is that game :) Absolutely loved it on Xbox One last year. You PS4 owners are getting the best console version too, so get on it!
@fastharrydotcom: I'm surprised EA haven't given the nod for this to happen by now. There certainly wouldn't be any noticeable impact to sales of newer BF games as a result. That being said, we're all still waiting for them to give the OK for ME2 & 3 on X1 (or tell us when the re-release IS coming), so perhaps it's something they're choosing to just actively ignore until these games can be used to promote newer versions, or something else that can be sold to us.
If history tells us anything, it's that you should just go with the console that has the most compelling games for you, it's that simple. The only real factor that separates the consoles is the handling of 4K Blu Rays & streaming. If 4K Blu Rays are a must for you, then you should probably choose the X1S. If not, then i'll direct you back to my first point :)
@computernoises: I'm glad you're not including the Sega related attempts. People give far too much credit to them in regards to online play on consoles. It has to be said, the gap between PSN & XBL isn't quite what it once was, but yeah XBL (as a service) is still top of course. I switched from PS4 to X1 about a year ago, and the difference in online capabilities really isn't much to be hung up on. The gap was considerably wider between PS3 & 360, but PSN was free back then, so it was a trade off that really came down to personal preference & play habits.
@Moonco: You must be joking...The Nintendo Network on Wii U is slow & limited to say the least. At least it was a year ago just before i finally sold mine.
