@simplytheebest: The only reason they're showing the PS4 version first is because it has the largest active user base for the typical release, as evidenced by sales of multi-platform games in past. I'll be buying the X1 version, so this video is more of a guideline of what to expect. The differences won't be huge afterall, unless you're planning to play at 4k on PC.

@CallMeDuraSouka: Well said. They could have at least arranged a joint release with MS in exchange for the rights. Perhaps now that this is common knowledge there might be refreshed talks that could be conducted more sensibly.

@clay544888: I did that a couple of years ago. Plays nice on the dual sticks after you've spent sime time fine tuning the controls. It also looks a lot nicer than the original thanks to improvements built in to the emulation software.

That being said, i didn't enjoy playing it anywhere near as much as i was hoping. Call me crackers, but there's something about a legal & official release that you just can't beat :) Now that i know it was pretty much ready to go, it makes me sad to think that a small legal rights hiccup stopped it dead.

If anyone at MS is reading, i'd happily pay £20 for this on the store! Pay off the miserable gatekeepers & reap the rewards!

It's smart business for Microsoft to keep reducing the price of the console, especially now. PS4 has (or certainly should have) given them a big kick up the backside for the last few years, so it's good to see the scales are starting to move a little now. Microsoft need the mind share boost before they come out with their new & improved console. The numbers they pull in now could very well effect how the Scorpio sells in the long term, what with digital libraries, communities, etc.

On a side note, and quite clearly just my opinion, i'm glad to see that X1 is finally getting the attention it deserves. I think it's a fantastic console that has been criminally overlooked by a lot of people that followed or heard about their terrible E3 announcement & strategy. Yes the PS4 is clearly more powerful, but that's where the advantages end for me. I owned one for several months before getting an X1 & i just couldn't enjoy using the UI or the controller in particular. Plus a lot of the great games are actually from the PS3 (same is true for X1 of course, but i spent less time with those), which was my primary console throughout the last cycle.

To each their own. Again though, it's good to see that the mass market doesn't necessarily see the best selling and most advertised as the only one worth having.

Smart move by Microsoft to put this game on Steam, and with less barriers to entry. It'll sell quite well on PC now.

For anyone who hasn't played it, it's a pretty good game. Certainly not amazing, but equally not terrrible...A solid 7/10 in my opinion, and no bad thing!

I for one can vouch for his statement. I can't wait to buy my Xbox One Slim! Just have to wait until they're back in stock at my local stores. I won't be hurrying to buy the Scorpio at the end of next year. I'll leave that to the people that demand the latest & greatest. The Xbox One as it stands still has plenty of years left, at least for someone like myself that doesn't desire to be playing games in 4K any time soon...I'd need a TV upgrade also.

@bernard978: Like it or not, Steam brought back PC gaming, at least in terms of mass market appeal. I know, i was gaming on PC when it was seemingly starting to die in the early 2000's. The only problem with Steam these days isn't really the fault of Valve, it's that a lot of users tend to buy ONLY from Steam which is limiting other companies that might have new & better ideas. GOG for example is what i believe PC gaming should have steered towards. Unfortunately, companies know they don't have to give the DRM loathing distributor the time of day if they don't wish because they can sell on Steam & to the users that seemingly rely on Steam.

Right or wrong (lets face it, he's almost certainly in the wrong) he completely ignores the fact that Microsoft no longer has the ability to control computer gaming like they used to. With each theoretical sabotage towards Steam, there would be hundreds of articles similar to this one explaining what happened & why. Keep doing that for a few years & you're suddenly looking at an influx of users moving to Linux, Steam OS, or anything else that their mistakes would give rise to.

That being said, Microsoft aren't stupid. They know that their OS has succeeded for so long because of its ease of use, and wide-ranging compatability & customisation. Why would they be so stupid as to cut off maybe 5% (a guess of those who use Windows for gaming) of their market share in an attempt to make a small percentage from revenue that would be gained from that very same 5% they just lost? They have a chance at gaining some market share if they do things right. Just like EA with Origin, i'm prepared to give them a chance if they're prepared to improve what is currently, and clearly, a substantially flawed service.

Learn from GFWL, slash the prices to entice people, make it worthwhile to check back everyday! These are basic ideas for any new business. Why does MS have such a reserved attitude towards their own platform & PC gaming? Its been this way since i started with PC gaming in 2002-03. Boggles my mind...

@RSM-HQ: Everyone says that about Zero, and you're all insane :P To be fair though, it's definitely the lesser game of the 4 (0-3)
