Yep thats right, today is my birthday :) ...24 years old.........

Well enough of that depressing thought :lol: on to gaming.

Let see...I visited my brother over the weekend and got to play MGS4, my first time playing a MGS game. Thankfully I got some background from my brother before I played or I would probably have been lost. I can understand why it is so well liked. The story was very entertaining. It kind of sucks you in. Though I have to admit they got pretty darn detailed on some things. I know for MGS fans this was probably heaven...but I had a hard time staying focused on some of the dialog. For example, one gave you the backstory of one of the psycho ladies you just killed....I kept thinking "why the hell do I care? she tried to kill me, now shes dead..." but possibly it is important further on in the story. Overall the game was enjoyable. The stealth gameplay was fun. One of my favorite parts was the whole scene with Raiden when you first see him. That was awesome. And I was surprised when I heard him talk for the first time, my brother thought I was crazy when I said "omg its Reno!" :lol:

Played some GTAIV. I was impressed on how much was there to do and how the game has grown from the previous titles. But just like the other games, the only fun part for me was driving around. And of course after awhile I got bored. So I didnt play much actually. I just cant ever seem to get into the story of the GTA games.

I got stuck on Patapon again :roll: It was the night time mission, cant remember the name. But late last night I got past it...with one patapon left :lol: Its health was so low I could barely see the little sliver of red in the health bar :)

...well I guess I better go do something fun for my birthday...no idea what...but ill have to think of something...

I recently heard that Toys R Us will be having their Buy 2, Get one Free sale on games starting on June 22. They dont have anything up on their website but supposedly thats when it starts. Not sure how long it will run...but worth taking a look if you have some games youve been waiting to get :)

Edit: Looks like it is only DS games that are on sale :(

I finally got past the part in Patapon with the catapult. YAY! :lol: Was even able to do the next mission where you have to have the wind Juju song playing almost the whole time :shock: Woo Im on a roll :lol:

Completed my second play through Crisis Core and it was just as good as the first time! :D And yes I even cried at the end again:cry: Hehe, Im going to start a third game and try to get 100% again.

Going to visit my brother's place this weekend. Will get to play MGS4 and GTAIV for the first time :D And if I can pull myself away from both of those games, ill get some more time in playing Lost Odyssey, Rock Band and Lair :wink:

What do you look for most in a game? (gameplay, characters, story, ect)

Ok I promised I would stay away from drawing Cloud for awhile....but I couldnt help it :D I had to try again and I think persistance has paid off. I love this one :lol: Let me know what you think! I had a reference to look at while drawing.

I deviated from my drawing list, but I will be starting Squall or Fei next.

I know Ive been kind of boring lately...all I blog about is drawings...sorry about that. Im kind of in a "blah" mood at the moment.

Some of you guys were interested when I said I had a horse so I thought Id share a picture of her :D Her name is Tasha.

This picture quite a few years old...I havent taken any newer ones that are as pretty as this one. She is 24 years old this year and I have had her for 11 years.

Gaming news: I just got my issue of Game Informer and they gave FFTA2 an 8.5. They said the gameplay is great but the story is weak. Makes my decision on whether to get it or not that much harder...I like strategy rpgs but they arent my favorite. I was hoping the story would make up for that but it doesnt seem like it will. Hmmm....ill probably skip getting it and just wait for FFIV.

Just finished my chocobo drawing. I think its really cute and Im happy with the way it came out :D I was going to draw a flock...or herd...or pack...well whatever you call a bunch of chocobo :lol: , but I liked this little guy enough to leave him solo. That way he gets all the limelight :P I had a reference to look at while I drew it.

Im still stuck on Patapon. I was able to get the catapult but still cant beat the castle. Its getting a bit on my nerves at the moment, especially that stupid Juju song that I can never seem to get to work :lol:

Finished Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fates. It was a pretty good game. The gameplay was fun with action and platforming elements. Nothing physically wrong with the game, mostly just me wanting more depth from it. I thought the story was weak as well as the characters, which is probably why it never really hit awesome for me. It starts slow then gets much better in the middle but then trails off at the end. It didnt leave me with a "wow!" feeling like most recently with The World Ends With You, Revenant Wings, and Crisis Core.

If you read my last blog, youll know I failed miserably to draw Cloud in my latest drawing. I knew it was horrible before I even posted it and removed it cause I couldnt stand looking at it. However, I didnt want to give up on the drawing because I loved everything else about it. So I tried to fix it but it didnt work. Instead, I completely redrew the whole thing last night :lol: I appreciate every critique that was given before I removed the first one. It gave me the drive to attempt to fix/redo the drawing.

Still not exactly how I wanted it, but atleast it doesnt make me cringe to look at it like the first one did :lol: I plan on trying Cloud again in some other pose at a future date...Im determined to draw him right :D For now I want to move on to other things.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions on what to draw next! So many good ones that I cant decide :lol: So for now Ill be planning to do all of them if possible. Some will depend on if I can find a good reference, namely FFIX Bahamut and Master Chief.

Ive been playing Patapon and im stuck. Im on a mission with tons of towers. This one has boulders that trigger a mechanisim that smashes all of my patapon into little eyeball pancakes :lol:. Tried to attack from a distance...but still cant get past it.

Also been enjoying Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. Im on the third chapter and Im really surprised how much fun Im having playing it. Now I cant wait to see what the new DS game will be like.

Still havent started Brave Story :lol: Ill get around to it within the next couple weeks. It will give me something new to play until FFIV comes out next month.

My brother finally got his Xbox360 back (he encountered the dreaded red ring of death). Actually he was sent a brand new one. So now I get to bug him until I get to visit :lol: Never got to play GTAIV before it went ka-plooy. Also want to play MGS4 :D

Im feeling a lot better then I was a few days ago. Its so hot outside so Ive been inside playing games and such :lol:

EDIT: Sorry I had my latest drawing up (new one of Cloud and Tifa) but I had to remove the picture. I couldnt stand seeing how horribly bad I drew the face of my favorite character, Cloud. Other than that I loved the drawing. Possibly Ill try to salvage it and share later...:(

I plan on finishing the drawing I did from memory soon.... But I would also like to start a new one. This time though Id like to get everyone's opinion. What would you like to see me draw? Can be Final Fantasy or some other game character or even a monster/creature/summons and such. I will either do the character with the most votes or if there isnt a favorite Ill pick one (or a few :D ) out of the suggestions to do.

Sorry I havent been very active this week. I have some sort of cold and have been feeling horrible. Today seems a bit better though :D

So I finally uploaded the drawing I did over the weekend of Neku from The World Ends With You. After finishing the game I felt like I want to draw something...though this is not my favorite one that I have done. I had a reference to look at while drawing.

Not sure what I will do next...I do have a half finished attempt of trying to draw something strickly from memory and no reference...but Im not sure if Ill finish it...or show it :lol: It isnt very good.

I think thats all for today. Hopefully this stupid cold clears up soon.

I picked up Brave Story: New Traveler for the PSP brand new for only $19 :D

Some of the others they had on sale was Vallaha Knights and Monster Hunter Freedom 2 for the PSP, Digimon World Dawn for the DS and Odin Sphere for the PS2. They had many more but those are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Might want to see there is anything interesting to pick up for such good prices :wink:

The World Ends With You is amazing. Seriously, if you have a DS and like RPGs dont pass up this game. I didnt think it was my kind of game at first and hadnt planned on picking it up. But I would have missed out on the best DS game out there IMO.

The story is really entertaining. It kept me captivated with its twists, literally there were places where I was like "Whoa! I didnt see that coming!". The characters had some complexity and grew throughout the game.

The gamplay was unique. It was quite difficult at the begining to figure out how to control two characters at once, but once you get the hang of it, it was throughly enjoyable to switch attention from one screen to the other. The pins and clothing system was decent, but the food system was great. I think the idea of the food to boost your stats was a great idea and gave you some control of how your characters would be. I found a certain set of pins worked the best for me and pretty much stuck with them for the majority of the game.

I loved the music in this game. It got stuck in my head. It was cool to collect the different songs and have the choice of what to listen to in the game menu. I also loved the graphics style of this game.

Ok now for spoiler stuff :D

DO NOT read if you dont want to know stuff about the story as well as the ending!

[spoiler] Nooooo! Joshua was the Composer? :cry: He was my favorite partner! Bad Joshua, Bad! :lol: Dang I really hadnt seen that coming...I was starting to think it was odd that both Shiki and Beat were there and Joshua wasnt. But then when he got captured too, I really didnt suspect at all. And he did kill Neku! Ugggh! :lol: This game had so many twists and turns, it really kept you on the edge of your seat. The ending was just like the rest of the game: awesome :D It was cool how they changed the title in the ending because of the changes Neku went through [/spoiler]

Well now I can replay the chapters and get all the extra stuff :D
