@XxTheEvilxX @jer_1 Kinect is another thing Sony wishes they had and are trying to implement as close as they can.
I don't plan on buying either system unless and until there are must have games. And with Dark Souls II and GTA V being current gen...it'll be awhile before I even look at new consoles - and the whole truth will be out there when I do.
I'm just pointing out that so far, pretty much everything everybody 'hates' about X1 is essentially the same on PS4. The only area Sony has excelled is the presentation of their message to gamers.
Anyone who uses software in any environment other than 8 year old consoles is completely used to the idea that you buy licenses, not the software itself.
Anyone who would like the new boxes to be reasonably affordable understands that the architecture change means no backwards compatibility...or more expensive consoles.
Anyone watching Sony knows that Sony looks to be going the same direction and has not stated otherwise.
That said, Sony is owning MS on the PR end of this cycle. I'm just confused that most everyone here appears to be more interested in PR than facts...suggesting that you aren't any smarter than the mass market MS is trying to appeal to.
@oOhedzOo I hope they don't change it too much. For example, figuring out why Rhea went into the catacombs and why Petrus did what Petrus did is so much more interesting, and endlessly more engaging, than a ridiculous world full of characters dripping with artificiality and just dying to pontificate on the details of some meaningless quest. Not that I didn't like Skyrim, but it was so much more satisfying to put it together yourself in Dark Souls.
And yeah, those endings...in the "good" ending are you really just serving liars in white hats? Or making a selfless sacrifice? I love that the answer to that question is up to you.
The stupidest move of all the stupid moves. Everything else, honestly, as a person that's going to be paying for games and internet anyway, is no big deal. I even like the idea of Kinect. But this...is... ridiculous.
@JoeGamer1234 @plaintomato PC games are a fraction of the cost of console games, easily saving the cost of PC upgrades, especially when I gotta have a basic PC regardless. And everything pretty much stays backwards compatible, so the library of games I can't sell isn't suddenly useless one day.
I might buy an X1 for an entertainment hub sometime. It's just no rush, 'cause I'm not motivated by an entertainment hub. And as a video game system - it's just not that special.
They're going to make money. I'm a gamer, and now that I've seen the reveal, I'll be jumping into PC with both feet, not buying an X1. But it's going to sell, this is the future of "entertainment systems" not "gaming consoles".
