@AshTrai Kinect has the potential to be pretty cool if it's used to enhance things instead of getting in the way of itself. But it's not a system seller, and they seem to have come up with some decent system killers.
@torsor I'd agree with that. All their people will have to do is mention a few truths about the two systems to potential buyers. It'll happen without a company push.
@jdc6305 Now that it's confirmed that neither console is a must buy, and they are basically just PC's anyway, I think I'm just going all in on PC. Full backwards compatibility too.
All they had to do was push day one Games on Demand and discount them from retail. Can't sell those can you; so they'd settle people in just like Steam did on PC. End of story. But no, they wanted to wear their "we hate our customers" policy on their sleeves again.
And Games on Demand are still laughably priced higher than used discs.
@vongroove @plaintomato But...since the new consoles are essentially PC's, the only reason a game won't end up on PC is if it's first party or a secured exclusive.
The PC experience won't be as good at first, because they won't be able to optimize to fixed specs, but PC's will overcome that with power...like now already, and more affordably so in the not too distant future.
@johnners2981 Covered elsewhere I guess. All they had to do was push day one Games on Demand and discount them from retail. End of story. But no, they wanted to wear their "we hate our customers" policy on their sleeves again.
The only thing I took away from it all is that I guess I probably won't feel the need to buy a console for a long time, if ever. They just confirmed that if you were thinking about moving to PC because of how outdated current consoles are, they don't have any convincing reasons not to jump ship.
