@exedeath Dark Souls was better than Demon's Souls in nearly every conceivable way but one thing: P2P/no servers. Not to say there weren't parts of Demon's Souls I liked better, but DkS was a better game. No doubt.

@XxTheEvilxX @plaintomato Making money from an inspired vision results in great games. Making games because visions of mass market money ARE the inspiration results in crap games. I want them to make piles of cash, just maintain the integrity of the vision.

I wish other devs would start jacking the Dark Souls template already. If Dark Souls wasn't the only real option for its fans, people wouldn't have to feel so protective of it. I mean, if they ruin COD I've got boatloads of other options. If they ruin the Souls series, I got nuthin' to turn to.

Let somebody copy the ideas and water them down, that's fine, just so there are still serious versions of this idea out there for those of us who love it.

@XxTheEvilxX @Kyfinity Oh man, I hope Bethesda is taking notes from Dark Souls...Skyrim was great and all, but it could be so much better if it weren't secretly nothing more than dice rolling behind the combat.

@Kartheena Servers! If you can PVP or Co-Op without all the waiting around, that will be a nice return to form. Definitely a pre-order; they've delivered two of the greatest games ever made, no reason to doubt them yet...

What is AAA? Is it defined by the dev or marketing budgets, sales, review scores, hours consumed per player, some other marker of 'quality'?

Dark Souls was a AAA game already. Bigger, deeper, better, more fun and more replay-ability than any other 'AAA' title I've ever played.

If it was accomplished with a less than a AAA budget, good for them. If AAA is the point at which bean counters, focus groups, the marketing department and mindless reiteration are the primary factors driving development then being called AAA should be as much an insult as 5.0 review scores

I don't understand. Why isn't the headline "Friend Collection Big in Japan"? Who cares about #2?

@ramthegamer @plaintomato @Rixxamus iRacing and rFactor I guess. But those are $$$. Best retail game, as in "On Steam"? There isn't one, that's the problem. GRID was great, but that doesn't make MORE GRID great, and you have to buy the other half (known as DIRT) to get a full game.

I'd go with TDU2, which I am fully aware sucks, but it's exciting what it COULD HAVE BEEN if they'd had a AAA budget, a sense of realism, and looked for inspiration from racing enthusiasts instead of focus group data from tweens.
