"Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li screenwriter Justin Marks was signed to draft the film adaptation's script"

This is why video game movies suck donkey d**ks.

If your idea of a success is how many PS3 units the game will sell regardless of budgetary costs then you would fail business school. Sony is not the government that has infinite resources or a printing press. Also, Sony doesn't make much money from selling consoles either.

Like I said in a previous post. None of that matters in the least. What matters is the net profit PERIOD! Did the money from sales exceed the budgetary cost used to make the damn game? THAT is the measure of success not about exclusivity or multiplatform. If it did then how was Naughty Dog able to produce a game with the same visual quality as Tomb Raider on a smaller budget and what was that budget? Tom McShea makes a direct correlation between graphics and budgetary costs which a lot of people falsely make. If The Last of Us is a success then it completely disproves the theory that better graphics equals higher costs and Tom McShea's article is full of crap.

So the budget is different because it doesn't have a long history? The success or failure of a game is based on net profit and nothing more. Which means the amount of money from sales far exceeds the money used to produce the game. Both games have realistic graphics and good story, yet Tomb Raider is a failure because it wasn't considered profitable by Square Enix. Gamespot's Tom McShea seems to falsely equate graphics with production costs. So why was Naughty Dog able to make a game that has gorgeous graphics and yet cost less money to make? It seems the problem isn't graphics but is due to poor budgetary management.

So is The Last of Us a success or failure since it only sold 3.4 million copies while Tomb Raider sold 3.7 million copies in the first month? Where's Tom McShea article on how realistic graphics is killing the gaming industry? I thought there was a direct correlation between graphics and gaming budget.

The petitions were most likely coming from publisher's headquarters like EA and Ubisoft.

So the question is how many were reserved for amazon, bestbuy, gamestop, and other retailers for it to be sold out? So there won't be any on the shelves come Christmas?
