hey guys right now i currently have windows XP home edition SP2 and since i am reformatting (upgrading all parts) im jw if it would be a good idea to dual boot XP and a version of Vista?

now i havent bought vista but my friend has the disc and i was jw if vista is only a one time use disc or if it can be installed on a certain amount of computers? jw since if it is, i could dual boot with both.

hey guys i just bought a new upgrade for my comp and amongst those parts is an 8800GT from EVGA. now as many of you know EVGA has a 90 day step up service where you can step up to a better card released by them within 90 days of the first card you purchased. since the new GTS's are being released on the 10th or 11th i believe, would it be smart for me to do this step up? will the new GTS be better than the GT's right now?

well the q6600 is still priced pretty good compared to dual cores and its also futureproof since quad cores havent been fully utilized yet so when that day comes around my rig will be able to handle it

i just bought all these parts on saturday currently waiting for them in the mail going to be setting them up later this week. tell me what you guys think. its my upgrade from my two year old comp lol

-EVGA 8800GT 512mb GPU

-ASUS P5E X38 LGA 775 Intel mobo

-Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2gb (2x1gb) PC8500 1066MHz w/ cheap $20 RAM fan since i hear these things can run hot

-Intel quad-core Q6600 2.4GHz CPU w/ Zalman 9500 fan

-OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU

-Thermaltake Kandalf full tower ATX case

-320gb (2x160gb) of Seagate HD space

-19" AGNeovo monitor

itll be running on windows XP home SP2 (i know not the best but im waiting to upgrade to vista once all bugs are fixed)

all of this (minus the case, HD's, and monitor since i already owned them from previous setup) cost me about $1100 to make minus shipping and tax and what not

cant wait to set it up lol tell me what you guys think

thats the best pic i could find with the holes on the top unfortunately but they are plenty plus im going to be adding a fan where those holes are blowing outwards, that is if my gfs brother gives it to me lol, to get some airflow upwards as well

lol well too late to tell me what to get since i already ordered it all and im awaiting its arrival lol. and that RAM was actually really cheap it only cost me $130 and the fan was only $20 and people wrote reviews of the RAM getting very hot so I figured why not add this $20 fan that got good ratings and reviews to keep it cool. it will certainly expand its lifespan and increase some airflow in my case (probably very minimal increase though)

hey guys just ordered all my new computer parts off of newegg today waiting for them to get here later this week. this is my new PC after upgrades:

-Thermaltake Kandalf full tower ATX case

-OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU

-320gb HD space (2x160gb seagate)

-ASUS P5E X38 Intel LGA 775 mobo

-Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) 1066MHz w/ RAM fan on top since I read reviews on these sticks running hot sometimes

-Intel Q6600 2.4GHz CPU (going to overclock once i learn how)

-EVGA 8800GT 512mb GPU

-Zalman 9500 CPU fan

Total: about $1100 w/o shipping and tax (minus the case and hard drives since I already have those from my last custom PC)

Let me know what you guys think. the reason im posting this topic is because I have been posting a lot of topics with various lists of parts and this is the one I have finalized on and FINALLY ordered and its really a thanks to all those that have helped me select this system.

thanks to all those that reply :)

haha thats pretty cool. i think it would be a great idea for a 360 to be in a case since it has heating problems
