looks great! i skipped the first but might have to check this one out. MK7 did the whole submarine/plane thing already but this looks different. and as GS said MK7 wasnt the first to do that type of thing anyway, diddy kong racing on n64 was. wonder how the next MK on Wii U will play, but this looks like itll be a good game to tie me over till then!

wow.....samaritan demo in one card??? now we're talking. this means the next gen PC games are going to be able to reallyyyyyy step up the 'game' quite a bit. i just hope next gen consoles follow suit & have something similar to this card powering the next xbox and playstation. Then, one of the oldest rumors about the next xbox, that it would support real time graphics as good as 'avatar', may actually be true. But we'll see, because the cost of this card makes it too high to put it into a console right now. I just hope that if PCs are pushing the envelope this far, that consoles don't hold it back too much next gen.

I think for me the most exciting gaming news all week (besides the release of ME3) is the ACIII announcement. It shows great growth in the series, and promises to be as much of a leap forward as ACII was from the first. After being semi burnt out on that series due to annual releases which were basically just expansions (and not always for the better) on ACII, I'm excited for a new time, place, character, animations, graphics, weapons, and story in ACIII.

Meh, not interested in any of these games. Both fable entries look like they will simply pull the once much loved series even further into the abyss of crap that it has become, Kinect Star Wars, while i admit a recent ad showing a young girl 'force choke' several imperial officers made me think the idea might be cool, looks kind of bad. also...the inclusion of a dance mode just goes to show that kinect can not be taken seriously. and it's rather unfortunate, because i'd like the kinect to do well, i really would. but it cant have a game that doesn't involving dancing...star wars...really?? Always been intrigued by halo, but never enough to buy a game. but with so many FPS out there in the vein of COD and BF, perhaps my interest in sci-fi FPS will return and Halo 4 may give me a reason to finally get into it. Although ME3 fills that void in my life pretty well, even though it isn't technically a sci-fi FPS. Will someone please explain how you can have a 'spin-off' of a series like Forza? It's just sim racing...how is Forza Horizon going to be any different than Forza 4, or would could simply be Forza 5? I want more information on this game before I am interested in it.

a very reasonable point of view in this article, and decently articulated. I'm curious as to how this author feels about the 3DS. But just a thought...if the main complaint here is the UI and software, can't a software update from Sony completely change that experience, akin to how Microsoft has changed the 360 UI several times? His major complaints seem to be about software, and about how slow the device is in general...games, menus, internet, powering on, all take a long time on the Vita. It's no wonder given that it's essentially a portable PS3, in order for them to get all that power in that small case i'm sure certain things had to be sacrificed. That can't be updated unless there is a rerelease of the Vita, akin to the many iterations of the PSP. Yet he calls it an impressive piece of technology..perhaps from solely a graphical perspective, but it sounds to me that in every other way it is in fact not impressive in today's world of super powerful mobile devices... This was a good article overall, I didn't know any of this about the Vita. Wasn't planning on making a purchase but if I had any curiosity of owning one, these are issues that would irk me as well so yeah, I'm sold on not getting one lol. Mark Walton, please do an article in this vein for the 3DS, I'd love to see what you think of that handheld as well.

this article means one thing to me....gaming is about to get a lot more expensive. & right on the verge of a generation shift where we (console gamers, at least) will have to fork over upwards of $300 or $400 for at least one of the new consoles in the next 2-ish years. I completely understand why developer's are completely against used games sales. I don't think this will put dedicated gaming stores like GameStop out of business, but what was really separating them from major retail chains (Best Buy) was their used games selection & trading options. But as a consumer, of course I'm not happy because it means I will HAVE to pay whatever the market price is for a new game and if afterward I dislike the game or am tired of it, I'm stuck with it & am out $60 bucks. It will make my purchases much more selective then they already are. We'll see how hackers/modders/homebrew type applications react & fight the next generation's tactics. I'm interested in what they do to still figure out a way to play downloaded/used/backups/pirated copies of games (I am NOT endorsing pirated copies, but if there are no used copies to sell at retail or on sites such as ebay, the only copies one might find that isn't brand new will have to, logically,be pirated).

con't... Anyway, my point is those games have replayability, addictive nature, depth, and memorability. I'll remember about a mario game and be in the mood to play it. Not the case with angry birds. With angry birds i wouldve liked more levels to play through at the time i finished it, but at this point i haven't played it in a while and it's like, well whats the point. With other games its like, i haven't played this in a while, let me go back and play it again. Same levels. Same game. Year after year. THATS the sign of a great game my friends. Not copies sold. Think about how many copies of Super Mario Bros would be sold if sold for $1.99 on Apple's App store!!! Consider how many apple devices are out there...i wouldn;t be surprised if they doubled the number of devices Nintendo has sold since the NES. And they all have access to the app store, and they all can get angry birds for $1.99. X million copies of Super Mario Galaxy 2 have not been sold, simply because there are only so many Wiis out there, and I'd say $50 you have to go to store to buy in person or order online and have shipped is a little less accessible than $1.99 and clicking 'download'.

i played the free angry birds via Google Chrome. i definitely enjoyed it quite a bit, and it's simple addictive nature gave it great replayability, something not all current console video games have. I was clamoring for more at the time i finished the free 3 sections of levels on Chrome, but not enough to make me buy it, and i have since forgotten about it. That to me, is the key. I have since forgotten about it. It was addicting and fun at the time until I beat all of the levels, and then i played again to get 3 stars on them all, and then i stopped. and have since forgotten. With the x million copies of "Super Mario" brand game, you don't forget any of them. Each one is memorable, and playable time and time again year after year. I can;t tell you how many times I've tried to play Super Mario Bros, only to get to world 4 and then fail. I can't tell you how many times ive gone through Super Mario 64, or even Sunshine. The GB versions of all the SNES mario games stuck with me too over the years and i keep going back to this day. As of right now, Super Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2 are the only ones i've only played once each and that's because they're similar to me, and Galaxy 2 has 240 friggin' stars i still haven't collected em all. (tbc..)
