Both versions look great, however ps3 version was blurry. Still looked great nonetheless.
HDMI cable would make little to no change in the graphic quality from component. The fact is, image quality of HDMI is the same as DVI, furthermore DVI/HDMI vs Component for image quality alone is a toss up. It has more to do with the conversion process and the source then the cable between these formats.
HDMI would make a little change, however, that is not the point i was making. the point is, HDMI picture (not necessarily the quality) always differs from component, whether it be the colors, the brightness, the sharpness or the contrast. because of this, you need to calibrate your set for each device (ps3, 360, dvd players etc) or even if you use a different cable. brightness controls the black levels on an HDTV. if set too high, an image can look washed out and not as sharp. to me, the ps3 version looked too bright (a tad). if set lower, it would probably make it look a little sharper because the blacks will be darker. usually, when you calibrate a TV, you set the contrast (white levels), then you set the brightness (black levels) so it doesn't wash out blacks.
some ps3 owners over at avsforum were complaining about the ps3 being too bright, and that they had to lower their brightness. you guys DO realize that you need to calibrate your TV for EVERY device, even if you're using different cables, because HDMI/DVI, Component, S-Video and Composite all look different. anyone who knows a thing or 2 about TV's/home theaters will know this. who knows what setup and what settings were used on the display. all i know is, that doesn't look all that graphically amazing, and there are better games graphically than that. theres no reason why the ps3 version couldn't match the 360 version, unless time was a factor. until the PS3's dev tools mature and/or Devs get the hang of the ps3's hardware (since its so complex) we probably will see some games that look inferior on the ps3. but there are some games that look better on the ps3, so its all up to the devs to optimize 360 ports to the ps3's hardware so they look identical.

why do you care about score so much if its better than all of the fighting games in the genre? it probably scored a 9.1 because of the lack of online. it does say VF5 is still king of the fighting games. if it had online, theres no question VF5 scores on gamerankings would be over 90%.
had a launch unit that had beer spilled in it. had it fixed and it lasted about 5 years. had a slim ps2 for about 2 years and it still works (but i sold it). ps's have always been reliable, and so far, the ps3 seems to continue this trend.

it is the best system to US... why do you think we bought it? you made your choice, we made ours. i didn't buy a ps3 for its power, i bought it for the features and the games i know are coming out.
No offense to those who are fond of the series, but $60 and no online is almost inexcusable. Tekken DR is a better pickup IMO, and it's online $15... Of course, I haven't played either, so who am I to judge? ihatebugers
i've really lost interest in fighting games, so i haven't played one in a while. but judging by the GT review, it seems like VF5 differs from other fighting games. its more realistic and technical, so you can't really just button mash. but like you, i'm no one to judge.
What is with this topic? The PS3 has only been out for 3 months, the Wii has been out the same time. The 360 came out a year ago. Gears came out a year after the launch so I hope that the 360 would finally get a good game. After Oblivion it had nothing until Gears. Just give it some time and the PS3 will do just as good as the 360. And how can you compare Gears and Resistance? Gears came out on a year old console and Resistance was a launch game so you do the math.Ragnarok1051
lemmings are getting insecure so they need to post pointless topics like this. i don't really bother in S/W anymore... its all just pointless arguing and mostly lemmings saying how superior their system is. i honestly think S/W should be removed, and we all stay in our own sections.
