There are a lot of good games that come out every year, but there are few that can still be enjoyed much later on. Games like the original Mario games are still fun, even if they do have 8 bit graphics. As a matter of fact, I tried some DS games with 3d engines that allowed movement in all directions and I was disappointed. The games were fun and had a Mario feel to them but nothing beats the original.

Also, we can't forget games like Starcraft and Counter Strike, which were released so long ago but still played for years to come.

For some reason, my 360 keeps disconnecting from XBL when I am trying to download a file.

I have the 250gb Xbox 360 S and I can game online just fine. I played about an hour or so of Modern Warfare 2 today with absolutely no problems. Then I bought the Ballad of Gay Tony GTA IV DLC and tried to download it. About 2 hours later, it's still at 2% because my 360 doesn't stay connected to XBL for more than 5 minutes before disconnecting. The only time it doesn't disconnect is when I'm playing an online game, which isn't an option because it stops the download. I really want to finish this download and try the DLC but the download will already take at least 2 hours on my slow connection, which is just being exasperated by the fact that I can't connect.

Does anybody have a fix for this so that I can download the file?

[QUOTE="GhoX"]Since you actually went to notebookcheck, you probably should have actually checked GTX480M instead of assuming that it'd run at 30 fps. Here's your card. http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD_ATI_Mobility_Radeon_HD_4670.13881.0.html 1024x768 on Ultra. Are you sure you even enabled Ultra? If memory serves Ultra is unavailable by default. Most likely the highest option you can select ingame is High or Very High.Resistance_Kid

Very high is ultra. I'll say it again, I honestly am stunned by the performance this laptop has given me. I actually played Metro 2033 on Normal with 25+FPS in DX10, maxed out Bad Company 2(but set shadows to medium) with 30FPS, Maxed out Dragon Age on all Ultra with 8xAA at 30+FPS and the list goes on.

I don't expect you to believe me, but It's the truth.

Also I didn't check the GTX480m because notebookcheck didn't get any results from any games yet.

What laptop do you have?

What Size Monitor do you Have ?

Xsan3

27" 1080p brand-new monitor. Still returnable for like $330 from Costco if I find something better though. My only problem with it is the fact that it has only 1 HDMI and 1 DVI port, not enough for both my PS3 and my 360 to get hooked up to it.

get a cpu fan meube some blue cathod lights.. make a few nice photos of a tricked out case :P

ionusX

I've already got a nice Zalman heatsink that keeps my CPU running below 50 C almost all the time, although it might spike to 55 under load. Heat isn't much of an issue with a case like mine, but I would like to speed up the computer a bit more.

And what should I upgrade to? My rig specs are in my sig, and please post a link of the item from newegg or a similar site. I was thinking of getting a Phenom 965 + new mobo + ddr3 ram, but I can't find a decent combo, so if you could find one of those that would be pretty cool too.

I have a laptop that I would like to game on since I don't have another computer while I'm traveling. I know that laptops aren't great for gaming, but when I'm traveling the game's graphics aren't very important, I'd just like to play. I recently got Starcraft 2 and wanted to try playing it. What puzzles me is that no matter what game I try to play, it never runs well, always pushing 2-5 FPS, even on all low graphics. Starcraft 2 was so slow that when playing the game, I would notice that a game I've been playing for 10 or more minutes would show up as a 3 minute game when I quit.

PC Minimum System Requirements*:

  • Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 (Updated with the latest Service Packs) with DirectX® 9.0c - I have Vista installed
  • 2.6 GHz Pentium® IV or equivalent AMD Athlon® processor - AMD Turion 64 TL-62 2.1ghz dual core
  • 128 MB PCIe NVIDIA® GeForce® 6600 GT or ATI Radeon® 9800 PRO video card or better - GeForce 7150m 1 gig card
  • 12 GB available HD space
  • 1 GB RAM (1.5 GB required for Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 users) - 4 GB RAM installed
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • Broadband Internet connection
  • 1024X720 minimum display resolution

PC Recommended Specifications:

  • Windows Vista®/Windows® 7
  • Dual Core 2.4Ghz Processor
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 512 MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800 GTX or ATI Radeon® HD 3870 or better

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks.

If you're looking for a new keyboard, the Razer Lycosa is AMAZING, with a blue backlight and black keys and customizable macros for every key, I have never once had a problem with it. Also, if you don't already have it, StarCraft II is a WONDERFUL choice. If you don't already have it, Red Dead Redemption is a good console game that I would highly recommend, or you could save your money for when Halo: Reach comes out in 1.5 months because that's a must have for any console gamer, casual or hard core.
