Sure it does. DVD upconverted doesn't even come close to HD movies. Nor match the sound quality.

The PS3's bluray player has actually gotten pretty good reviews from several audio-video enthusiast sites. I personally have a 56" 1080p set and I can definitely tell the difference between it and Bluray. It's night and day.
No a sheep. That was kind of a joke thread. but still, 360 scored 0.1 more which is funny because not one single mutliplat game scored the same or higher on ps3. College Hoops 2k7 got a 7.9 on the 360 and an 8.0 on the PS3.
I have both and the PS3 has been well worth it for me simply because of the Bluray player. In fact, if I never play another game on it I will be happy with the purchase for that capability alone.
Americans are cheap, and will sacrifice quality in the name of price. There's a reason why Southwest Airlines, Walmart, McDonalds, and tons of other companies do so well in the US.

No, it's really not my intent. I really want to know what else there is to possibly look forward to now, since Europe was the one thing keeping PS3 people's hopes up.
If your intent isn't to flame why would you use the term "massive failure" or make the assumption that not buying a PS3 is akin to "dodging a bullet"? You don't seem very objective and unbiased when you use that terminology.
