[QUOTE="ramey70"]Any list of worst companies that doesn't include Northwest Airlines loses all credibility. They included United but they are actually far better than Delta, Northest, and US Airways/America West.

For all the talk of Sony losing money with the PS3 you have to realize that Northwest posted a $2.8 Billion loss for 2006. That's insane.

And I believe the United States Government bailed them out...

Ya, all airlines (even Southwest) received bailout money after 9/11. Northwest, along with Delta, didn't use it wisely and now find themselves in bankruptcy.

[QUOTE="ramey70"][QUOTE="HuusAsking"][QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"]Look, if you are woried about getting the best service for movies, but a dual Blu-Ray/HD-DVD player. That way you can have either HD format, and DVD, all in one, and no worries about transcoding, download time, studio support, etc.Darth matt
The trouble is such a device doesn't exist. Furthermore, the licensing agreements of both the HD-DVD and BluRay camps prevent member companies from making such a device. It would have to come from a company that is outside either camp.

Where have you been? LG officially announced the dual BD/HD-DVD player at CES this year.

Yeah, but with a $2k price tag, that LG combo HD video player is still out of reach for most consumers. Its only a matter of time before either one format fades away, or the combo players drop to $500.

You need your eyes checked. It's $1,199, not $1,999.

What if you have all three systems this gen but only 1 game for each?  Does that make you a better gamer than someone who has 50 games for one system?

Most 1080p sets only accept the signal via HDMI.  In fact, some 1080p sets won't accept a 1080p signal at all.  They  just upconvert from 1080i.

You're lying.

There's no way to verify it broke into "millions of pieces".  Assuming it took you a second to count one piece each that would extrapolate to approximately 23.148 days of non-stop counting.

[QUOTE="ramey70"][QUOTE="karicha9"]People that feel that you need HD to truly experience "next gen" are falling for the marketing ploy.karicha9
You'd have hard time convincing my eyes that they are seeing a "marketing ploy" on my 56" 1080p HDTV.

Yet most games are 720p, correct?

I mean, really, the small difference you observe is not really that important to a game.

Again I disagree. The first time I played Resistance, which was an average at best shooter, was on an SDTV. When I purchased my HDTV I popped in Resistance just to see the difference. I ended up spending all weekend playing it from start to finish all over again just to enjoy the HD visuals. Quite simply, it was like a whole new game and I thoroughly enjoyed it more the second time around.
