VC-1 doesn't belong to Microsoft. Quite a few companies have patents included in VC-1 and the actual royalties are usually paid to MPEG-LA. It's an open SMPTE standard.

Even so, VC-1 encoded movies only make up about 23% of BD discs sold. Most are AVC and that number is actually increasing.

Actually, they are pretty much equal. Most people (non-fanboys) actually have come to this conclusion.

HD-DVD isn't dead, but it's on life support and it's time to pull the plug. However, it won't affect the 360 much at all. It's a hell of a gaming machine with an awesome library.

Just like Resident Evil 4 is better on Wii than PS2/GCN/PC?

darth-pyschosis

Why shouldin't a last gen game be better on a current gen system?

I have on and just use it as a bluray player, so you're bluray comments are a little off.

[QUOTE="Not-A-Stalker"]

CNet's stock right now is at 7.58 so thats...

$18,950...? Not bad. I want some! :cry:

UserFrenly_Noob

of course you do im gonna take it and put it into nintendo

Just my opinion... I'd invest half in Covidien (COV), and the other half in Wachovia Bank (WB). Enter an all-or-none limit order to buy WB at 39. I predict Wachovia's daily stock price will drop back down to 39 within 2 to 3 weeks after momentum traders and investors looking too soon for the bottom get done with the mini-rebound currently taking place. Wachovia has a fairly safe 6.5% dividend, and by the end of 2008 the mortgage mess will be mostly behind us and WB's stock price will have rebounded to 50, imo. Covidien is a recent spinoff from Tyco, thus it is relatively unknown to many investors even though it has $10B in annual sales. Its stock price will double in the next 3 years, imo. By 12/31/2008 you should realize a nice gain from it, as more investors discover it. Barrons did an in-depth article on Covidien several weeks ago. If you aren't a subscriber, go to the library and find the October 3, 2007 issue. Hold the stocks for more than 365 days unless you want to pay taxes on gains at the income tax rate instead of the short-term capital gains rate.

I hope they really take some time to make Sigourney Weaver look real in that loose fitting dress she wore before turning into the Keymaster.

Sony fanboys should want this game since the re series started on the psx brand and this is an extension of that. RE 0, 1, 3, and a new chapter. awesome.

Nin360

I'm sure they'll be content with Resident Evil 5.

One benefit of HDMI with the 360 and PS3 is that it allows the console to upscale DVD's to HD resolutions. This isn't possible over component cables. The 360 can do it with VGA, but HDMI cables can be had cheaper in many cases than the VGA cable for the 360. Also, some TV's experience washout in colors with VGA.
