yeah i know, i have the PS3 and the regular cables that came with it, so would it look fine still? i just got to go in the option of the ps3 and tell it to go on 1080p?SiKh22

The cables that come with the PS3 are composite cables (red, yellow, and white) and not capable of passing an HD image (or even a 480p image). You will need either component (red, green, blue, white, red) or HDMI.

No brainer, the 360. Downloadable content, access to GH2 and if you plan on getting Rock Band the guitar will work with it.

Actual movements of the HD-A2 deal last Friday is estimated to be 90k, not 100k. The $199 deal for the A3 also went back up to $299.

[QUOTE="ramey70"]What I felt was absurd was the TC feeling empowered because he stuck it to an electronics company because in his mind he "stood up to the man ". Lilac_Benjie

You word it so elegantly. :P

How is it absurd for an individual to make a conscious decision based on consumer ethics? Especially in the wake of invasive software, viral marketing ploys, and clear arrogance.

Uh, because it's a videogame system?

I've been self employed for two months and work as a consultant to aviation firms and airlines. I'll remind myself to go easy on myself in my next performance review.

The McCombs School of Business is one of the most highly rated schools in the country. At last check it was ranked 18th on USNWR graduate schools list, just 4 behind Yale.

Let's just hope you do a better job at due diligence for your clients than what you've shown in your posting history...

LOL. They didn't what they got into when they hired this guy, huh? All the time spent on this forum instead of doing his job...

My job is whenever I want it to be. The days of working someone elses hours are long over for me. :)

So I guess that when you are faced with financial ruin, you will have only yourself to blame, huh?

Well, Sir Knight, I will have to talk to you later since I'm going out to grab a bite to eat. You keep posting your ridiculous arguments then. Carry on.

Do you any idea what "consultant" means?

How do you know that the breach was mild?

tango90101

How do you know that it wasn't? Your own article stated that the Federal Government didn't feel this serious breach warranted prosecution. That alone tells me how serious this was.

And yes, I will mock anyone that feels empowered for "standing up" to Sony. It's a videogame and a consumer product. If my lawnmower sucks and Cub Cadet makes a ton of absurd claims about their products I'm not going to feel empowered because I buy a John Deere the next spring. Nor am I going to feel empowered because I choose to by a Whirlpool dishwasher because the Kitchenaid I had before flooded my kitchen.

i think i see the disconnect..

you're believing we're blaming a game or a piece of plastic..

we're not... we're blaming the idiots who are selling the plastic... sony's leadership/PR...

at least that's what i took out of the tc's post...

Not really, I wouldn't really have a problem at all with someone calling out Sony's PR and executives. In fact, they should. What I felt was absurd was the TC feeling empowered because he stuck it to an electronics company because in his mind he "stood up to the man". The whole time as I read it I'm thinking "How can anyone get this emotional over a videogame system?". Norma Rae, Martin Luther King, The Knights of Labor, Ghandi, The Teamsters, The Molly Maguires, Malcom X, Rosa parks. Such powerful names and now Lilac Benji stands amongst them as fighters of tyranny and oppression.

But if you want I I'll just side with you. We can all cry on each other's shoulders about how Sony is contributing to society's ills and harming the ones we love. Perhaps we can even get a special colored ribbon to wear and raise awareness. Or even better we can get a special rubber wrist band to wear to remind others of how we are suffering at the hands of the evil Sony corporate giant. And one day, when our children are safe and the world is at peace, the history books will remember you and I as the great saviors of what is right and wrong in the universe.

Pimpshigity21

Wow. An MBA and this is the best you can come up with?

Very mature, BTW. Just be sure the people that employ you don't come across this thread or your job might be in jeopardy (specially if you are typing this from work...they can tell, you know).

An MBA from the University of Texas, huh? Thanks for the info, dude...I'm surely going to steer my kids away from that school now.

I've been self employed for two months and work as a consultant to aviation firms and airlines. I'll remind myself to go easy on myself in my next performance review.

Wow, dude -- take it easy with the gaming posts or your little consulting venture might turn out to be catastrophic for you. Seriously.

I suggest you spend a little less time losing arguments about consoles, companies and security holes on System Wars...and focus your energies on doing a little more quality consulting for those airlines and aviation firms.

I'm typing away because the San Diego fires kept me at home today...otherwise I would have let you believe that you won this argument a long, long time ago (in my job, I have to be forever vigilant of security breaches, you know).

The McCombs School of Business is one of the most highly rated schools in the country

ramey70

After your little display, I highly doubt it.

That's it? The best you can come up with is an opinion that I some how "lost" an arguement on 1) a videogame message board on a thread that 2) talks about people feeling empowered because of what videogame system they choose to buy or not buy. Further, I'm also to believe that I'm now somehow going to lose business becausse of what I do in the comforts of my own home on time that I chose to spend however I please. The next time I'm hired by Southwest Airlines to analyze the demand structure of a future route I'll remember how much my System Wars posting set me back. Woe is me.

And yes you can doubt the 18th rating all you want for UT but here it is plain as day....

They would be increased losses in the short term. I would imagine Sony is taking a loss leader approach and hoping to recoup cost later with a larger userbase and to a lesser degree increased returns on software and accessory sales. I don't see it paying off for them with the popularity of the Wii and the continued formidable lineup the 360 has in the next coming months. The gaming public can't and won't wait forever.

tango90101

"short term"..? the lifecycle is only 4-5 years.... we're already at the 2 year mark with the 360....

i'm thinking longterm losses, as bluray is not having the penetration predicted....

Again, I agree with you. I don't think it's going to pay off for them. Not saying it can't happen, it just doesn't look good. And the more I play the 360 the more I come around to the idea that MS hit a home run with the 360. I'm finding very few things to not like about the system.
