[QUOTE="ramey70"]Unfortunately that's not really true. The maximum acceptable signal of my TV (and most 1080p HDTV'S) is 1920x1080. A PC outputting higher than that resolution is completely useless to me. I'd also like to know where this "better Football" game is you speak of. Does it have detailed stadium models for every D-1 University? Updated rosters for D-1 and D-1AA schools? University fight songs? Team mascots? In depth recruiting aspect? Vandalvideo
I've got you in a logical redundancy. Explain how the PS3 or 360 are any better for the vast amjority of the US population that has SDTVs? Look, the PC supports higher resolutions and better sound than consoles. If we want to use your logic, why even bother with them? Not to mention the PC has football, hockey, baseball, soccer, chess, and even alternative sports games like skating, paintball, skydiving, surfing, and speedball. The PC isn't lacking in any way in sports titles.

Actually you don't.  I countered the claim that the Wii targets all people.  In my case it does not, as I'm sure it doesn't target others as well.  Never did I insinuate that my situation was reflective of a majority of society.  By the way, please don't group soccer into sports like hockey and football.  It's insulting to those of us with testicles.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="ramey70"]You didn't see the edit. NCAA Football, (and to a lesser extent NCAA 2k7 and NBA 2k7), do not appear on the PC. The consoles provide an all in one compact solution with static system requirements for gaming. I buy a game for 360 or PS3 and I KNOW it will work when I get it home. Vandalvideo

So your new reasons are the games the platforms offer? Thats a far cry from your original statement.

Not all. The Wii lacks the horsepower I need for gaming while the PC lacks the games (in this case NCAA which is my Zelda, Halo, MGS all rolled into one) and convienance of a console. If the Wii was even near the PS3 or 360 in power I'd probably be very happy with it. As it is, it looks like total garbage on my TV almost to the point where it hurts. I have to leave the room when my wife plays the damn thing.

Well the PC has tons of unique sports games as well, so if sports are your thing we have them. We even have better football games than your liscened crap. Thats the power of true artristic freedom. Besides, like I said, if you're so gungho about HD gaming and surround sound, then 360 and PS3 are also obsolete and inept for the job. Only the PC can provide TRUE HD and surround sound.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]No, they target EVERYONE. Vandalvideo

I have a 56" 1080p HDTV with a $2,000 surround setup. I demand HD graphics and multimedia capability combined with the latest in online play and the best AI and physics without having to buy a gaming PC. The Wii didn't target me. In fact, it insulted me.

Well then, you're just an AV nerd. (Sorry fory the derogatory comment). I mean really, if you are going for high end set ups just buy a PC.

I don't want a PC setup in my living room. I don't want to bother with system specs, patches, mods, upgrades, and all those headaches.

Well then why bother with consoles all togther? I mean, you're so mad about the Wii not having surround sound and HD gaming. PCs have like 1200p equivalent and 7.1 surround sound. I could easily say, "all consoles don't offer high end surround sound and HD gaming".

This is a common practice in just about every retail industry.   As I said in another thread tire manufacturers are notorious for doing it.

[QUOTE="Tiefster"]Wait wait wait...how does price hold back next gen graphics and gameplay?jedigemini

Price has held back potential PS3 consumers, which has in turn lead to a major shift in the market in Nintendo's favor.

It's a good thing Enzo Ferrari didn't alter his designs to appeal to the poor.

[QUOTE="ramey70"]So how do you explain the 360?chicagog19
The 360 is selling well and saving nex gen graphics

And AI, physics, online, size of environments, and a multitude of other upgrades the Wii can't even begin to touch.  My power isn't just a graphics benefit.  Nintendo doesn't seem to realize that however.
