If Halo 3 went to PS3, it would kill 360 to a great extent.

I believe theres more consumers that play GTA with Playstation then they do Xbox. So GTA4 is definitly probably gona be a GTA4 winner. PS3 also STILL has some good exclusives like "Metal Gear Solid 4" and near future "Final Fantasy", "Devil May Cry" and "Assasins Creed"

A_FITZ

Assasins Creed and Devil May Cry are not PS3 exclusives.

Surprised it took this long.

Probably not a good move on their part as the defendants will likely have far more money than Microsoft.

I don't see how owning a PS3 will keep me from enjoying the Forza2 and Blacksite demo.

Which system did you play them on last generation?  I have a 360 and a PS3.  I tend to play games on my 360 more than my PS3, which I mostly use as a Bluray player.   Like yourself, I play NCAA Football extensively and it's probably my favorite game of all time.  However, I'll be buying it for the PS3.  The reason is that I've gotten so used to the PSone/DualShock/DualShockII/Sixaxis button layout and controller that it feels awkward when playing Madden/NCAA on the 360.  So that's a major factor in my decision.

Blu-ray: "It's a format that force on consumers. Sony is ripping us off"

Well you do have to agree that blue ray was and still is forced upon anyone who buys the PS3....they should have at least waited for it to be a success then offered it as an add on for those who wanted it, otherwise if blue ray fails then your 600$ goes down the drain with it because it probably would lack massive support. Choices are the way to go.

Other than that I agree with the rest of your post.

snyper1982

Come back to me in 5-6 years when DVD is obsolete, HD-DVD is out of the market and Blu-ray is the only format. Then we can discuss how bad of a move it was for sony to implement blu ray

Holographic storage(HVD) is going to dominate both. BD pales in comparison on every front.

HVD will never see the light of day as a consumer media format.

No NFL teams means this game holds very little of my attention.  Too bad EA bought the rights to the NFL.

[QUOTE="iwo4life"]My biggest dissapointment of 2006 is the fast food attitude that society has. Also there are so many stupid fanboy wars currently going on that its lame. There are very little difference between most competing products yet stupid fanboys continue to act like 1 thing is vastly superior to the alternative. In reality most of these things are currently similar or will be a wash in the future. PS3/X360, Blu-ray/HDDVD, LCD/Plasma, Coke/Pepsi. Who cares. Quit trying to justify your purchase by running down the alternative. Or if it is so important to you budget properly and buy both.tango90101

you do realize you're posting in System Wars, right..?

wow...how DARE gamers compare consoles in System Wars...wth are they thinking....

There's a considerable difference between spirited and constructive debate and 12 year old level insults and insecure compensation for people who emotionally attach themselves to corporations and the innanimate machines they manufacture.

[QUOTE="LosDaddie"]And after all the effort, you still haven't realized that I treat MS no better than I treat Sony. I just didn't come out and say it. Rosencrantz

So...you make numerous posts bashing and attacking and condemning Sony, none towards MS, and then you claim you don't treat MS better than Sony? Seems to me you have proven, beyond doubt, that you treat Sony better.

And you must have stuck your head in the sand in 2005 if you think X360 fans weren't complaining about the lack of a standardized HDD. I almost got banned at the xbox.com forums for my opinion on the subject. But I guess in your version of reality, x360 fans were quite happy with MS' decision.

AH, yet another sign that you are a fanboy hiding behind your possessions. The rewriting of history...backed by what happened on some other forum. While you are at it, would you like to defend your favorite game by finding out what xboxfanboys.com rated it?

So far your arguements to me have been: (1) Despite my hypocritical actions, I am not a hypocrit because in my mind I treat all companies equally, and (2) You are clueless about history because you have not searched out one single website that backs my arguement and acted as if it applies to the whole internet.

Awesome. Much to my surprise, it seems you are capable of thinking on your own. :)

That makes one of us.

Personally, I think anyone who doesn't think Sony lied about the PS2's capabilities is not living in reality.

Do you ever back up your claims with evidence or do you just listen to what other fanboys say and think that because they say it lots and really loud, it must be fact. As a wise man once said, opinion without evidence is called prejudice. You seem to be displaying that with every post you make.

You also forgot to include the fact that he believes fundamental rules of economics, such as inflation, does not apply Gaming Consoles.

Depends on how educated they were. Those of my friends that I went to school with understood perfectly, and many actually changed their opinion. Those that weren't (or liberal arts majors ;) ) continued to rant about being "gouged" or how "big oil" was out to get them. This was even after I explain the nature and realities of the commodities market in which crude oil and gasoline futures are traded, and supply/demand line problems inherhent in the oil and gas industry. Of course this debate is for another forum. I have no qualms with current gasoline prices and understand full well why they are the way they are and why they are at or lower than they were 20 or 30 years ago.

LosDaddie

 Yeah, I heard the same rant on Rush, but wondered why he didn't talk about inflatiion when discussing the market.

Call me weird, but when I bought the PS3, I sure wasn't thinking: "This is actually cheaper than the Atari2600 my dad bought for me....if I adjust for inflation"

Tell you what, there's an easy way for you to understand the harsh realities of inflation.  Stop paying your Federal Income Taxes for the next 5 years.  When you get that little nastygram from the IRS, calmly explain to them that the substantial amount they added to the total constituting Inflation based accrued Interest is totally unfair and that this "inflation nonsense" nothing more than something Sony fans conjured up on Gamespot's System Wars forum.  I'm quite sure they'll be very receptive.
