New banner!

Well paintshop arrived (YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!:D) and I have been messing about with it learning how to use the tools and I made 3 banners which I liked. The first one is the one you can see at the top of my page. The next one was the good the bad and the ugly.

Getting latest version of paintshop!

Ok so when I got paintshoop I ws really excited. And then I find out it was just a rubbish cheap rip off version that somehow has the same name. But today my mum has promised me that I am going to get the latest version of paintshop soon! I am really happy and looking forward to getting it as then I can make my own decent looking banners, icons and things. And I have only recently found GIMP (which  I used for the online connections banner) and thats what im going to be using untill then. HOORAY!!! And I also might be going to celebration europe for my birthday! Celebration europe is the first licensed star wars event to be held in europe and to be precise LONDON! YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Fave movie, fave location, I must be dreaming!!!!!

Also I have nearly finished reading the first in the discworld series. Its called the colour of magic by terry pratchet and its hillarious. I guarantee that you will have never read anything like it before.

Also Im starting to go through all the vids and I will be having a featured vid. Ill start off with one of my own and start showing vids that i like and are underapreciated.

Todays vid is my tribute to the cinema of 2007. It was made during the christmas season of 2006 so a lot of trailers are missing but I believe it to be one of the better ones I have made.

So I think thats it thanks for reading!

The day the earth stood still- remake in progress?

The Day the Earth Stood Still- the black and white sci-fi classic about a spaceman who returns with a robot called Gort with a message of peace for all of mankind- is said to have a remake in the works and that 2008 is when it will be released. Box office mojo (the company behind the rumour) has updated their summer 2008 release schedule and it has been slated for a may 9th release date which if correct means its going head to head with thier other film the Iron Man. Also fox is said to be producing the movie. FirstShowing.net followed this up saying fox is producing a remake.

This is only a small blog post but so little is known about whether this rumour is true or false this is pretty much all the info I can scrounge up on the subject. This movie is surprisingly, considering what it is, under wraps. Heavily under wraps. However as soon as I find more info on the remke I will keep you infomed!

Charity shops- Brilliant for Classics

Charity shops have developed a reputation over the years as somewhere to drop unwanted junk and where grannies go to pick up the rags the shops call clothing, but I have always had a soft spot for these places. They always have some form of litterature in and I almost always come out with a bargain book (£1.50 for a book that costs a tenner in Waterstones. I think that counts as bargain) and recently in my area they have started to stock up on video games. Yes you hear me right. And yesterday me and my dad went into town and someone had decided to give up their WHOLE sega mega drive (genesis) and super nintendo collection. And some poor old dear who couldnt have realised the value of some of these games marked them at £2 each. The same price as a budget video. Unfortunately I had no money on me otherwise I would have come out with the whole lot and looked for a SNES on ebay. Also when I had no money I came across a copy of simcity 2000 in London. However I still buy the odd bargain. Empires of the modern world was one and my most recent purchase is the pretty old but decent looking Rise and fall of ancient empires. Although a 6.7 rating on gamespot it only takes 8mb of memory and it was at bargain price. So remember always check youre local charity shop for bargains!

Pixar slates toy story 3 for 2009 release

Disney animators John Lasseter and Ed Catmull recently announced to thier investors that a Toy Story 3 will begin production very soon.

The sequel to the CGI hit is down for a 2009 release date however John Lasseter (Director of Toy Story 1&2, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, Cars, and the upcoming Rattatoile and who is now running disneys entire animation branch) has said that he will not be behind the helm for Toy Story 3. That Job has fallen to co-director of Toy Story 2, Monsters inc and finding nemo, Lee Unkrich. Writing the script for Toy Story 3 is the Academy awrd nominee Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine)

"The greatest thing about the merger of the two companies is that the creators of Toy Story 1 and 2 can make 3 with the story that we wanted," said Lasseter, according to Variety, during the call, an obvious reference to Disney's previous plans to make the third film without the assistance of Pixar. Of course, that was before Pixar and Disney merged, and Lasseter became the boss of Walt Disney's ghost.

Also the new trailer for Shrek the Third is out.

With the king of far far away dead Shrek and Fiona are labelled King and Queen. But shrek finds it too hard to cope and goes of to find the true king-Arthur. It looks promising enough. Lets just hope!!

Bloody flu... AGAIN!

I fell off my bed last night and as I have no carpet (I have wooden panneling) it was a bloody cold floor. The thing is though when in deep sleep nothing, and I say NOTHING, can wake me up. So I wake up this morning and I cant stop shivering and I put the heating on but it dont warm me up. I touch the heater and I nearly burn my bloody hand off. And the real kick in the nuts...   I only just got over the flu! But it has its upsides. I was allowed to chill out all day and not do any work and I was allowed to download a demo on the pc. Soo I have been playing battlefield 1942 online all day! MWAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!! Maybe if I catch the flu again I could install my whole pc game library again!

poor little charlote

I went to see charlottes web yesterday. I say went I was more or less dragged to see charlottes web yesterday and in the end I was pleasently surprised.  Its not a scratch on babe but it was a really good movie. Its based on a book that follows the life of wilbur the young piglet. After a rat tells him hes going to be turned into bacon a rather well educated spider promises him that he will survive. It handles alot of subjects very well. especially for a kids movie. birth life friendship and death its a very touching tale. I nearly cried when charlotte died and dont laugh but im never going to be able to see spiders in the same light again.  A brilliant film.8/10

Additional: My mums gone and uninstalled all my pc games this week. Republic commando, rome total war, every smegging one of them. Im not very pleased about it. Far from it. The only thing stopping me from suffering from withdrawel symptoms is my ps2. (and the halo demo i hid really well on the pc)

happy first gamespot birthday to me!

Its been a year of me being a member of the spot and I have made many friends in the short ammount of time. Ive also worked my way through many games and I have told a lot of stories. And now im planning ahead. What can I do to spruce up my gaming and gamespot life? What can I do to help me keep my patience with gamespot as I have no next gen console? Any Ideas are welcome!

The top 5!

5-Star Wars: Republic Commando. The only game I have ever bought the noveliseation for. It has some great humour and the genius one touch squad command system and the lack of lightsabers and forcepowers gives this game that unique and enjoyable edge.

4-Area 51. Area 51 is the FPS based on the great conspiracy theories. With a mode where you can turn into the mutant and an intresting storyline this is one of the greats on ps2.

3-Sheep dog and Wolf. (Unfortunately no link) Based on the looney tune cartoons with Wile E cyote and Roadrunner comes the video game sheep dog and wolf. Its a great puzzle game that sees you capturing sheep from under the sheepdogs nose in a number of differant ways. Its a wonderfull experiance which everyone, young and old, will love.

2-Harvest moon: A wonderfull life. Its differant in a number of differant ways. Its a business sim but sees you looking after the place instead of recruiting other people. Its and RPG but there is no turn based combat (hell there is NO combat) its got a number of differant options and the idea of finding a wife and running a farm and looking after them is a great idea.

1-metal gear solid series. The greatest soundtrack, gameplay, storyline....well the greatest games ever made! I cant pick a favoraite out of the lot they are all good. These games proove story is a vital part to a games system. All entertaining and all encourage you to use the stealthy option instead of the Rambo option. Great games and the all hit my number one spot.

My top games-part 1

10-Star Wars Battlefront II. Its like waiting for a bus when it comes to a decent star wars game really isnt it. I mean you wait god knows how long for one and then they all come out at once! Republic Commando Was out in the same year as this game. What I loved about the first game is the lack of playable jedi. It was just you, a blaster rifle, 200 allies and 200 enemies. A simple idea executed in style. Although they have taken away the feel of it being a game where you play through star wars in the eyes of a grunt by adding playable jedi you can always refuse their assistence and what majorly improves this over the first game is the awesome space fight system.

9-Crash Bandicoot 2: Wrath of Cortex. It is quite possibly the best and most influential platformer ever made with hundreds of tv spoofs (Diggery Dingo in the simpsons) and plenty of games taking the exact same formula and sticking a differant skin on it. Its probably some of the most fun you can find for a fiver these days!

8-Tetris. The most classic game to ever be made. Its addictive, frustrating and great fun all rolled into one package. I always make sure at least either the GB, GBC or the GBA is charged up so I can play it before I sleep for the night.

7-Panzer Front. A mixture of tank simulation and strategy. Most people would think that the combination would suck but this is quite possibly the most engrosing tank game and RTS ever! With a range of differant styles of missions (major scale assaults and an awesome escape from berlin) some of this stuff shouldnt belong on ps1!

6-Medal of Honour: Frontline. A great fps. With one of the most celebrated opening sequences in a video game of all time (and no blaming them. The d-day landings really showed off ps2's power. It still blows me away today!)  I really love this game.
