@Zloth2 Well, there should be a program that checks the time of on the console's clock and some log files that has the latest date/time stamp on your hard drive that you are online. If your playing the game in somebody's house and its past an hour it should pop up a screen that says, 'Please connect to authenticate'. If your gaming on you console more than 24 hours without being connect to the Net, then it should warn you that you have to connect to authorize. I believe it will give you the option to connect now or skip and then give you the option to watch tv or play a blueray movie. Well, its that or the Kinect camera flashes red and photographs your expression of dismay.
@drgribb And I believe they would be doing that this holiday season knowing that Sony is listed at $399.99 compared to their Deluxe. Nintendo is smart and I believe they have a lot of plan a, b, c, d depending on the success of Pikmin 3 and the Wonderful 101 sales. As for Xbox 1....I don't know who the heck is running that ship.

@TrappedInABox91 Nintendo has been around for more than a 100 years in the business starting a company that sell gaming cards I believe. But I agree with you they are not in the same market with the Sony and Microsoft. They are in a different market and targeting a different demographic. My nephews who are 8 and 10 year olds only identifies Nintendo, Mario, Sonic and Yoshi. They will make a killing this holiday season once they lower the price on the Wii U and release Mario, Sonic and Donkey Kong this holiday.
@dpsuurhoff @sacatash You wouldn't believe how many people love Nintendo exclusives due to nostalgia and because of Mario and Sonic. The sales numbers don't lie: more than 60 plus million retail discs sold for Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros Wii combined as of May 2013. Trust me on this, Nintendo knows their audiences are and its the families with 12 year old kids and under and people who grew up in the 80's with the NES and SNES. If you are not in that demographic then your not their target audience.
Mario Kart Wii sold 30+ million RETAIL DISCS as of now. NSMB for the Wii sold also 30+ as of now. Nintendo has a monopoly of kids 12 years old and under. My 10 nephews and neices went bonkers when they saw Mario 3d land and Mario Kart 8 today in Nintendo Direct, including Pokemon X and Y and Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3ds with Mega man. In addition they have the potential to lower their price before the Holidays. Parents will go for the lowest price point. In conclusion: The Wii U will be fine.
