"But to me, the combat reminds me more of The Last of Us, and the impactful feeling of smacking an infected with a plank of wood'

Excellent. This is the impression I got from watching videos. One of the things I loved most about TLoU gameplay. The melee strikes, especially ones preceded by a run, felt so impactful. I loved encountering unarmed enemies just so I could run full speed and strike them with a blunt object. Really going to enjoy the gameplay for this one, just hope it doesn't get repetitive and boring. The past games usually kept things fresh by introducing new abilities, combos, and weapons so hopefully things aren't too different here.

@Xristophoros: "this should be free to play or a budget title"

This is what I think will really hurt the game. Looks like a fun game, especially with the right group of friends but it is a tough sell for $60. I know there are ways around paying full price (20% with a BB GamerClub , Xbox Game Pass, waiting for a sale) but the other part is having the friends to play and that'll take convincing friends that this game is worthwhile.

Right now Fortnite is lighting to world on fire because it's a quick, fun free to play game that is accessible and available to pretty much everyone. You can play with or without friends for countless hours without ever spending a dime. When a game like that is available a lot of people are going to look a Sea of Thieves and think it's not worth the price of admission.

@ratchet989: believe whatever you want, my decisions are based on how much I enjoyed and was entertained by movies when I see them. I really liked MoS when I first it, liked it less upon multiple viewings. I went in to BvS looking to enjoy it inspite of the critics and left the theater vert disappointed. Liked it a little more on my second viewing but still didn't think it was that good.

I'm not going to tell you the Marvel movies are the best movies ever (they're flawed and stick to a similar formula) but, for me at least, the majority are worthwhile and entertaining. They also did a hell of a lot better job building the connected universe than DC has done. Also, a movie being entertaining doesn't mean it is a good movie. The Jackass movies are entertaining but they're not good movies. When it comes to the DC movies so far I don't find the majority of them to be that good or entertaining.

"Barely anyone has a brain anymore to decide for themselves they just act like sheep it's pathetic."

If that's true then why is their so much hate towards the Last Jedi? The movie received a lot of praise from critics, some going as far to say the best Star Wars movie since Empire, but a lot of fans hated the movie.

@ratchet989: I'm confused by your comment. Are you saying there are great movies in this DC universe or that there are great DC movies if you look beyond this current universe? Within this movie-verse wonder woman is the only one I'd consider great. But if we are talking outside this current series of movies then I absolutely agree because they've made great live action and animated movies.

@Carpetfluff: "Many fans have grown up with these games, and grown as people, and are looking for a little more than just angry man smash face action"

That's such a great point. I was in 8th grade when the first game released so, being a young teenage boy, the game was right up my alley. Even when 3 released I was still a fan of the series. I mean how could I pass up a "next gen" God of War? But by Ascension my feeling was "been there done that."

Now it's 5 years later and, like you said, I want something different. If I really need my old school GoW fix I'll buy the Remaster for 3, which will probably be on sale when the new game releases.

@PrpleTrtleBuBum: I always thought it would be cool if comic movies took the actual comic book route where there can be different iterations for each character. For example, if you go to a comic book store there's multiple lines of Batman comics (Batman, AllStar Batman, Detective Comics, Batman and Ninja Turtles, etc. That's not even including comics like Justice League, Trinity, etc).

Maybe DC could try something similar as long as they do a good enough job of making the differences know. That way we can get a little bit of everything. For example have a Batman series that's more dark and grim while having a completely different Batman franchise that's a little more campy and kid friendly.

At this point, WB and DC should be open to new ideas and suggestions because I'm not sure things could go anymore poorly than they already did (well I guess worst case scenario would be Green Lantern levels of bad across the board).
