its fine but you can spend less on your processor and have it outperform a 3550. get a K version. ie a 2500/700/3550 k and overclock it.you can add ALOT more horsepower this way with no difficulty or cost. then if you do buy an older, but K version of a cpu then you can spend a bit more on your graphics card and get a z68 or better mobo. i dont think h61 even has onboard graphics, which is personally why i wouldnt buy one because if you have any problem with your graphics card you cant use your pc at all. and i agree with someone else, especially if you get a K cpu and overclock, you will want a full atx motherboard just so the components can be further away from each other and thus stay cooler.Hi i am building my first computer i need some advice i want to run Skyrim, WoW, SWTOR on high settings well, and BF3 on low-medium settings smoothly will this thing do the job? Thanks.

i used cheap mouse mats and flat table surfaces for years but a quality mouse mat is worth the money. the slick version of razor goliathus is very good. it has lasted me 3 years. no fraying along the surface at all. dirt and oil does seep into the fabric, but you can return it to a prestine silky smooth surface easily with soapy water and a cloth, you can even use a scouring pad to clean deeper, aslong as you brush along the grain of the pad it wont fray or bobble.

these vids are all played with a mx518 on a slick goliathus. it would be hard to play at the same speed without it, with a bad surface most mouses will skip if you play like this. have a look.
lol you hate me because im right. im poisoning this forum? ive never insulted anyone here, and never given bad advice. both things you do habitually. and a "fake boy" wtf is that supposed to mean? this web forum isnt an extension of your penis ionus.[QUOTE="seercirra"][QUOTE="ionusX"] dammit was about to say inb4 seercirca's ignorance. seriously here your as dumb as a board quit giving advice. your doing little more than poisoning this forum. i also accuse you of being a fakeboy

seercirca you say things that either jsut arent true or are basically fileld with opinionated nonsense many many times we have dismembered your advice or arguements with a crowbar better than a guy who works at customs XD. you dont insult but your advice often leads to unecissary spending or uninformed purchases by others and time and time again to have flashed a "pro gamer" street cred without defining what cred you have. and time and time again i have brought up an xfire user with the same suername as you. assuming your the same person you arent very pro gamer as you have fewer logged hours in a single game than any of us to in a multitude of games and you havent logged in months XD
so yes yes you are a fakeboy unless you claim to list what pro gamer you actually are. amt the only guy i would even think of calling pro is the jigglywiggly and you sir. are not him
dude i have told you 3 or 4 times now. i told you in the "why you dont want a laptop" thread. and i told you that many times before. you never tell me what is wrong with what i say, you just say im wrong. thats pathetic, if you cannot tell me how then dont even bother voicing your opinion. you are just an attention seeking maniac. "your advice leads to unnecessary spending" REEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDD my advice for a change. you make yourself look like a fking retardhello, the first thing you want to know is a 680 will be more than enough. the best price/performance point for graphics cards is about £150 - $200. and any card from this range will be more than enough to play even watch dogs or other games that havnt come out yet. this is true as-long as the graphics card is paired with a good enough processor.a ~500 dollar graphics card will not perform 2.5x better than a $250 one. it will be more like 30-50% better performance at best. you are paying a premium for newer technology, irrelevant of how much better it is.[QUOTE="seercirra"]

Im new to computer gaming so please excuse any qestions that might come off as silly or ignorant. Hopefully you guys can help and educate me regarding pc gaming world as well. First question is,who should I go with Alienware or Ibuypower from what I have been hearing they are both pretty good companies just little over priced but that goes with anything when you dont make something yourself. Can you guys help me pick desktop and specs for it that will play current games on max and hopefully future games such as watch dogs and star wars 1313 on max.
Another question is why do people chose two graphic cards? is it mainly for those who game on two screens or more? Is nvidia gtx 690 worth getting if I only plan on gaming on one screen or 680 will be more then enough?
Last question is after building powerfull desktop how often do you guys buy new graphic cards? and is that the only major thing that needs to be replaced when trying to play on max graphics or close to it?

the same is true for cpu's. the ideal price/performance spot for processors is also around $200. so, do not go and plunge all your money into a graphics card or a processor, thinking it will be best for your gaming and your pocket. you do not need to spend more than $500 in total for a cpu and gpu that will max todays games and games into the near future quite easily. this combination will last a good 2 years before you might want to consider upgrading.
you dont need to outlay anything like $2200, you are paying a massive premium for relatively little gain. i would encourage you to spend $1000 -$1500, for this amount you will get a pc much more powerful than you imagined.
to put it in to context you can understand: a console plays call of duty at 30 frames a second. a $1000 pc (using for example a 2500k and gtx560) will play at 200+ frames per second at a much higher resolution. so i think you will be more than happy with that.
and then once youve gained some experience with pc's and pc gaming, you can use that spare money to upgrade what you see fit.

hello;
i have a dislay problem. i was getting a long beep and 2 short on start up, no display. i checked card to see if it was dirty, and it wasnt so i took it in to the local computer store. guy there said my card was dead, told me the onboard display should work but i had disabled. he took the battery out, i put it back in when i got home, turned pc on but still the same 1 long beep 2 short but there is no card in right now im just trying to use my on board temporrly. anyone know what is going on??

You should check the manual next time - if you don't have one, you can find them online. According to the MB manual (for the motherboard you have listed in your sig), it states the following about beeps for your motherboard:
One continuous beep followed by two short beeps, a pause, then repeats - No Memory Detected
One continuous beep followed by three short beeps, a pause, then repeats - No VGA Detected
Your issue appears to be that your RAM is dead (one or more sticks - if you have multiple sticks of RAM) OR the DIMM slots that the RAM is connected to are dead OR maybe the RAM is loose and not seated tightly anymore.
So, whatever computer place you took your PC to, they're retarded....or maybe some kind of catastrophic failure happened and a lot of stuff died in your computer tower and they just didn't troubleshoot the issue any further.
well they tested another card and it posted properly while i was watching. I checked my ram sticks and tried switching, using only 1, reseatting them but still have the same beep sequence. also i have a new system no and my motherboard s a gigabyte ga z77x ud3h

the speil says the mobo supports LGA1155, it doesnt say it wont support this specific cpu, so rma the mobo back to where you brought it and change it for another one which will support it. or rma the cpu and change it for a 2500k
"first build" and "2k budget" dont often go well together.
whatever, i would say, refrain from the absolute most expensive parts. ie dont spend $500 on a graphics card. because you get very little extra benefit for the cost. invest in good sound, speakers/headphones/sound card, and peripherals, ie mouse, keyboard, even $20 on a mouse mat is better spent than $20 as part of $500 for a graphics card. if i were spending 2k i would probably go out and buy a nice new supercomfortable leather reclining chair too, but it depends on your situation. theres no point spening 2k on a pc and breaking your ass on a wooden stall.
