Yaaaaaa.....this didn't deserve a 9/10. maybe a 5/10 at its highest? It might fine if your not that into the games or the original story but otherwise I think you'll have more fun watching the 1992 movie Bad CG and all. They kind of skip the tournament and go right to the cheating, ON BOTH SIDES. my biggest complaint is with the some of the characters. Kano, Sonya and Jax are done really well but the new protagonist doesn't bring anything to the story. Also Kabal, there is nothing good about Kabal this movie. not his lines, personality or costume even. It all felt poorly done. also Lu Kang and Kung Lou announcing their on Fatality's and Flaws Victory's as won liners was awful (Face Palm)
I am an advocate for the DRM free nature of GOG (except for when galaxy is required for multiplayer games). I am glad that GOG is at least attempting to solve the multi store problem on PC but they aren't quite there yet. technically playnite and steam are already capable of launching games from other launchers but playnite is merely OK and Steam's method for "add a Non-Steam" is clunky and impractical.
Steam has the ability launch Non-steam games but its just a short-cut to the game with no other information attached. also you have to add Non steam games one by one from slow loading list of every application on your computer or by browsing for the shortcuts. After importing your non steam games you will still most likely need to update the name in your steam list and add the box art if your care. There are 4th party apps to automate getting the box art but you will need to have accurately corrected the names to match the steam names and even so its still not perfect.
Playnite kinda dose what Galaxy 2.0 seems to be promising with out all the extra features like, updating, unifying chat, being able to pull game stats (like achievements and play time) from the various launchers and closing them (the launcher) after your done with a game(Coming eventually to galaxy). Ounce Playnite has found your games it dose pull in proper cover art and names unlike steam's "add a non steam game" feature but the covers aren't of a standard size like on steam or it pulls in a console cover (playnite suports emulators). playnite's interface is starting to look and feel kind of dated. The main down side of using playnite or steam to launch other games is that it either launches the other launcher to play the game (Uplay, Battle.net, Origin haven't tested Bethesda's or Epic's) or you miss out on the respective launchers features such as cloud saves(Gog Galaxy).
I currently launch my games from their respective launchers, avoid the epic game store like the plague because of exclusivity deals, and use steam for its in home streaming functionality but primarily purchase my games on GOG when possible for it's DRM free nature and not being forced to use Galaxy(except for some multiplayer games).
TL;DR I will most likely switch to Galaxy 2.0 when its released and continue to add my non steam games to steam so I can use its in home streaming features. Hopefully if Galaxy 2.0 can eventually open a game without opening it respective launcher, galaxy will be able to send info back to respective launchers so you don't miss out on their features when playing games, such as friends list, trading cards and total play time.
addendum: GOG Galaxy 2.0 is also extendable using plugins so thats cool if you know what your doing
Reminds me of cable prices go up and up for now obvious reason. When I first got Vue it was $40 and had more channales. Then Viacom pulled out and and lost 21 channales and they reaisd the price. Then Sinclair networks (evil company but still) pulled out and lost a bunch of local news and the price rose. I general the service was great little to no buffering ever and clear channales and eventually they just gave me the Elite package for over a year for being a long time customer. They said as a 6 month trial but they kept renewing it. Eventually realized I just wasn't watching any of it so i just canceled the service when it was $45. At $50-55 I don't think i will be returning
@mcnichoj: don't think i said anything that would give the impression of mixed results. just saying that some ubisoft games support it and it can bee made to work easily enough (through steam) if you wanted to use it. but hey to each their own
@mcnichoj: DS3 and DS4 work on PC but its game specific. For many you may need to a piece of 3rd party software such as steam big picture mode. for instance AC Unity and a few other UBISOFT games actually brought up PS button prompts when using the DS4 without 3rd party software. I have had great success with running games through steam to make PS4 controllers work with games that don't naturally support directInput
I call shenanigans for being 3rd party and putting the stick and D-pad in the wrong place. I have heard Scuf makes quality controllers but i prefer the placement of the D-pad and sticks provided to me by the classic DualShock 1-4. make one with the sticks in the right place and a proper shape(one thats shaped like a DualShock) and it will become a consideration.
to be clear there is a news story from the huston press with her side of the story. https://www.houstonpress.com/arts/the-spider-man-proposal-easter-egg-has-a-darker-side-10842784 from her point a view tells a slightly diffrent story. just don't want to see her get slammed. public proposals are maniplitive and kinda rough.
Glad they are sticking with their vision and not bending to the unwashed masses. i get that many RPGs in the past have taken a 3rd person view but i feel this is an artistic choice rather than a game play one. if the Witcher 3 has showed us anything its that CD Project Red should be trusted with what their working on. if its so important that to see your character every now and then get us a button (talking PC i know controllers have limited buttons) to pop out and check out our character in 3rd person or a photo mode.
PS not that big a fan of the Witcher but i understand is significance.
