@siarhei: tldr version my math was wrong. $72 in the "Starter Edition" Vs $64 for the "Standard Edition" will get you all of the characters and unlock customization for all of them. I'm not ok with the fact that they'er giving you the edition that will ultimately get you to spend more if you wanted to unlock the same stuff in the other edition.
@siarhei: your right my math is wrong (should be $72) and you can unlock everything by playing a metric butt ton. also i understand some people are on budgets and don't want to pay for the full game and may not want to unlock every character at which point you will save money. but here me out.
first three are free(0 steel). Next 3 are free + 8000 each to unlock customization (2400 steel). the last 6 standard characters from the original game 8000 steel each (48000 steel). 24000 + 48000 = 72000 steel. The article mentions that 8000 steel can be purchased at 8000 steel = $8 or about $1 per = 1000 steel. 72000 steel = $72
$72 to fully unlock everything when you have the starter edition
if you want to get fancy you can add the customization cost to the cost of the standard edition 500 steel for 9 characters = 4500 steel or $4.50. 59.99+4.50= $64.49
$64.49 to fully unlock the standard edition of the game
the article goes on to say that for honor has launched 6 additional characters for 15000 but that DLC so it apply to both and doesn't apply to my calculation
making the "starter edition" cost more than the "standard game" ounce you unlock all the stuff. add another $15 if you had to pay for the starter edition and your at $97 for the "starter edition" vs $64 for the "standard edition". its the same for the rainbow six siege except there is even more content over there. I feel that a game should have one price if you don't want parts of a game you shouldn't have to pay more than the base if you decide you want it later.
I mean free game now but if you want to unlock the full game later you end up paying $72 (Edited) if you want everything. (Edit) I don't think its right that they are trying to hook you with a smaller portion of the game that will utimatly make you spend more money. I will wait until i actually want to play it I hope the servers are still running my back log is strong
at the time of reading ( 8/30/17 3:21) the online requirement has not been removed. The always online erro msg dose not look like a started steam steam application error msg it shows up as a standard windows application error. makes me wonder if at one point there was an online requirement and why?
I will request a refund and buy it again when the always on line requirement is removed.
GameSpot: Why bring back Final Fantasy XII over other mainline titles?
Kato (Should have answered): Why bring Final Fantasy XII back? BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY MAINLINE TITLE THAT WE HAVEN'T RE-RELEASED. Literally every other numbered FF has been re-released in some form and every time consumers shower us in money!!! Why not suck them dry for all they got for a game that we released a decade ago
But in all seriousness thanks for bringing it back. when it came out i was turned off by the battle system. I'm ready to give it another shot and this keeps me from buying a PS2 off ebay :)
@topeira: nobody reads anymore. thats why this showed up as a video rather than an article. Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to edit it better next time.
@Daveof89: 1 never said that apple hardware was better just used it as a comparison for the price. I often bring up the Lenovo X1 as well because it is a comparable Ultrabook
2 the laptop you described has better overall specs because it is a a gaming laptop. for ounce Razer didn't actually build a gaming laptop they built an Ultrabook that you can attach a PCI slot to via the docking station. I bring this up because of battery concerns. I had a blade 2014 (took it back to bestbuy after a week) and the battery only last 1Hr 45min while taking notes and surfing the internet in class when it was advertised as 8. an Ultrabook such as the X1 would better serve this issue better than a gaming laptop.
If you had actually took the time to read my post (spelling mistakes and all) you would know as the Blade Stealth and Core are configured now, i am not interested and merely suggested possible improvements. with said improvements i would be interested because it would be able to pull double duty as a gaming laptop while connected to the dock and be powerful enough on the go to get work done. I also state my opinion of stuff from razer as crap in the first and third paragraph, from past experience with the 2014 blade
In Summary because i guess i wasn't clear in my rant is that ya i think the Idea of an ultra light that you can work on all day and then bring home and plug into a dock and get the best gaming performance possible would be worth the $2000+. However Razer hasn't done it, and probably won't because they tend to make crap and they are greedy
@manny_gee_funk: Or. 2014s "Project Christine" modular tower. the switch blade was a concept Portable gaming device and Nintendo dominates that market. The screens on the keys would have been to expensive(optimus keyboard), and power hungry for device of its size. And the Razer edge pro gaming tablet proved that at the time you couldn't fit an entire gaming PC into a tablet (probably not the switch blades either) into that small of a form factor without it overheating and running out of juice. Also the general lack of intrest from the casual market in Nvidia's Shield gaming tablet at $300 The Razer Tablet with real gameing spects for 2013, with a 2Ghz i7, 8GBs of ram and a 640M with 2Gb @ $1449 dosen't stand a chance. Who would the switchblade be for? even at the price point of $800(below most gaming laptops) Hardcore PC gamers arn't going to buy it because it would cost almost as much as their more powerful and expandable desktops, and casuals wouldn't because it cost to much and it would only really be good for playing games. IMO the best of the switch blades tech ended up where it could do the most good. LED screen keys in a numpad less keyboard and the Razer blade Pro and thinner form factors for more versatile full sized laptops in the form of the Razer Blades series
