Although that may be true, the same devolopers are putting games on 360 1080P but only 720P on PS3? whats with that, can you explane that (some examples are the orange box GRAW 2)

fs_metal

I hope you know that the 360 doesn't output true 1080P but only upscales the image of a 720P source. It's in most cases almost physically impossible to have a 1080P game on a regular DVD.

The Xbox 360 CAN output 1080p NATIVELY.

The DVD format does not limit the 1080p. Infact isnt there a couple of 1080p native games out for the Xbox 360.

I'm not trying to bash 360, but from what I have heard, the system cannot play 1080P nativley and has a scaler that scales games from 720P up. Although to scale you need HDMI thus the Elite was born.

It can output in 1080p natively, but the DVD format is too limiting to do it natively, thus the system takes the 1080p res and upscales it to 1080. If yopu were to get an HD DVD player, you would have no problem running any HD DVD natively at 1080

The Xbox 360 CAN do 1080p NATIVELY, it came with an update.

IT is just an off brand cheapo HDTV. I was shocked and stunned when the console said it was displaying at 1080, but I knew it was true all the same because I have seen the PS3 display at 480, 720 and 1080 and I recognize all of thos resolutions instantly when I see them. My TV really does display at 1080 dudefs_metal

Your 19" TV might display at 1080, but it will be 1080i and not 1080p. The smallest 1080p TV out at the moment is 32" and I will repeat, even if I was wrong (which Im not) then to gain any advantage of having 1080p on a 19", you would have to sit 2.5ft away from it.

Explain to me why I can';t get it to display at 1080i but can at 1080p when setting the resolutions on the OPS3 then.

I cant explain, maybe your lying for one? But what I am saying and what I am actually TELLING you is that the smallest 1080p TV is 32". Doing a quick google for 19" 1080p TV brings up nothing either. And dont come back and comment on saying why would I lie, I never said you were I said maybe. The best we to settle this is for you to post the make and model number so we can check the specs on the internet. And with it being a cheapo set, I doubt it will be 19" and 1080p.

Everything indicates that my TV really is displaying at 1080p and I do not appreciate being called a lair. What? Do IO have to take a picture of my TV screen and shpw you where it says my PS3 is displaying at 1920x1080?

I never called you a lair, I said maybe you were lying, there is a big difference. Also you can do what you want, no 19" TV supports 1080p as the smallest is 32". Also for the third time, to stop this argument, all you have to do is post the make and model of your TV so we can check the specs on the internet.

Dude, the soecs claim that the highest resolution the TV is capable of is 720p, which is why I was surprised when it one upped that and displayed at 1080p.. The specs listed on the Best Buy site when I bought it and the box and the store shelf at Best Buy were all wrong.

No, you are wrong. There is no 1080p 19" TV, the smallest is 32". Do you think your some kind of special person who has the only 19" 1080p TV?

I was still correct >.> It's DVD's for games Amsterdamned

Going by what you said, which was this "Not even a retard would make a Xbox360 game to fit only on a HDDVD since the majority of the Xbox fanbase doesnt have the add-on so that would be a huge decrease for sales" It was sounding like you were saying that games could also get released on HD DVD.

[QUOTE="game_boy286"]

suriously what do you meen about the DVD, 360 uses HDDVDs you could never have these games on a standerd DVD

Amsterdamned

You sir are COMPLETELY wrong! The xbox360 uses DVD's! You can buy the HDDVD add-on but its not a BASE feature like Blu-ray in PS3. Not even a retard would make a Xbox360 game to fit only on a HDDVD since the majority of the Xbox fanbase doesnt have the add-on so that would be a huge decrease for sales... Please check your sources again

NO games are able to go on HD DVD's as Microsoft dont use HD DVD's for games, they just use DVD's.

[QUOTE="shawty1984"][QUOTE="fs_metal"][QUOTE="shawty1984"][QUOTE="fs_metal"][QUOTE="BMWPro77"]Unless you have a TV that is larger than say 40 inches the resolution difference is not detectable. This is fact. That is why you don't see many 37" and smaller TV's that are 1080P. Did you notice that? The only 37" 1080P TV that I have seen so far is the Sharp Aquos.fs_metal

Uh....my 19 inch will display 1080p through hdmi. Not Component htough

No it wont. There is no 19" 1080p TV's out there. The smallest 1080p TV is 32" as far as Im aware.

Well, I just made yopu aware of a 19 inch that does

Im 99.9% sure there is no 19" 1080p TV, what model is it and do you have a link for it. And if Im that 0.01% wrong, you would have to be sitting about 2.5ft away to get any benefit from 1080p at 19".

Let me lay it down for you like this. The resolution for a TV running at 1080 is 1920x1080. The resolution for a TV running at 720 is 1280x720. With my TV, when things are hooked up through component cables, it displays the resolution as 720p/1080p/420p or whatever it is. When things are hooked up through the HDMI cable, it lists the current resolution as 1280x720 or 1920x1080 or whatever the resolution is.

I have my X-Box 360 hooked up via component cables. The highest resolution I can get it to output with the component cables is 720p (which is a little odd because, when just watching normal TV, it displays alot of stuff in 1080i. Go figure. 1080p is rarely used for TV).

I have myPS3 hooked up through HDMI cables. It displays the standard resolution as 1920x1080. That's 1080. Before you jump on me and sya that it is displaying at 1080i and not p, let me finish. When I set my PS3 to display at 1080i and not 1080p, it will downscale to 720. It will not display 1080i. However, when I set it to run at 1080p instead of 1080i, it displays at the full 1080. The only conclusion you can draw from this is that, despite every indication being that it's highest resolution is 720p, the system CAN display at 1080p when HDMI cables are used.

Im still 99.9% sure there is no 19"1080p TV. Just post the make and model number and we will go from there.
