i don't have a ps3 so forgive me if this question sounds stupid but i would still appreciate the help. How exactly does the downloading of old games work? is it just like the virtual console for the wii where every week you have a hanfull of games or so that are available for download or what? Also how much do they cost? Do you have access to all the games or just a selected few? Finally can you only download ps1 games or can you do ps2 ones as well? Once again i'm sure if i had a system and could see for myself these questions would be self explanitory, but since i don't i'd appreciate the help. thanks

sony has dominated this industry for more than a decade and in 8 months everybody is digging its grave. You gotta be kidding me. I love coming on this board and seeing the DAILY posts of "Sony is dead". I know there are a lot of haters out there but whether or not they are as successful as they once were is not a question that can be answered in 8 MONTHS. Start digging the grave in a couple years, but for some reason, and all the haters know it too deep down inside, sony isn't going anywhere. I personally believe they dug themselves too deep of a hole to be as dominant as they were last gen, HOWEVER, anybody who TRUELY THINKS sony won't be there in the end is just having wishful thinking

i don't own one but the more i look at it the more i truly believe it will be worth it in the future. I simply believe that sony released the system too soon. The advanced technology of the system (blu ray) isn't standard yet. I think in a couple years when the price goes down $100 or so and the standard technology begins to catch up with what the playstation offers, as well as the games that are bound to be there (MGS4 and Final Fantasy are system sellers alone), i believe it will be worth the money. I laugh so hard when i read all these post about how playstation is dead and they will never be successful again. They may have dug themselves to deep of a hole to come out of in terms of dominating the industry like the PS2 did, HOWEVER there is no way any REAL and OBJECTIVE video game player can say after 8 months that a company like sony is dead. That's just obsered. Sony is like the Yankees of video games. No matter how many people want to count them out, at some point they will make their run, and in the end they'll be rightup there with the rest of the competition.

LOL. Roy Jones.

He moved to heavyweight....and fought John Ruiz.

WhoShotMe

LOL! Hell yeah. the worst heavyweight champion in boxing history. And you can combine that with that stellar list of great opponents he fought prior to that (ha ha). That guy is the most overated fighter of my lifetime. I don't care what weight class you are in, a great fighter will move up or down to find that career defining fight. Hell i hate mayweather, but he moved up nearly 20 lbs to fight one of the bigger names of his generation. Roy Jones never fought a sole. His best victory was james toney, come on, james toney. He fought Hopkins at the early and raw stage of his career so he doesn't count. He has ducked hopkins for this entire decade cause he knew he'd lose. The guy is a joke. period.

when he used to be a writer he was actually pretty good.  But i'm convinced that he has gotten this reputation for saying such outlandish things, that espn probably just asks him to say crazy things to stir up interest.  And the fact that there is a thread on this guy, and no other sports writer turned tv spokesperson (exception kornheiser and wilbon), i'd say it's working.

i am 25 years old and was a huge jordan fan so i was witness to a lot of his great performances.  This by far is the best single game performance in relation to the situation that i've ever seen.  Maybe when jordan went for 60 against the celtics in the playoffs but other than that this was it.  The thing about Jordan's great games in the 90's is that he always had pippen and other clutch players from kerr to paxon that weren't scared to shoot.  EVERYONE ON THE CAVS WERE RUNNING AWAY FROM THE BALL.  THEY WANTED NOTHING TO DO W/ THE MOMENT.  It reminded me of the kings vs. lakers western conference finals when bibby was torching the lakers until they started triple teaming him at the top of the key and the result-Peja air ball 3 pointer, Christie brick 3 pointer, etc.  How can one person score 29 OF 30 STRAIGHT POINTS.  THAT'S REDICULOUS

I was just browsing through the site and came across the review for punch out for the VC.  I noticed something in the review where it said that one of it's downsides is that when playing an older game on HDTV that there is sometimes a lag in the controller.  They said it had nothing to do with the emulation itself, that's just how old games play on HDTV.  Now here's my question, i am big on classic games and play them quite often, however i have yet to buy an HDTV so i never even thought about this kind of thing.  For those who have an HDTV and hook up their classic consoles to them, do you all notice any lags in the controls. More specifically to any of you that may have an NES hooked up on HDTV and have Punch Out, do you notice any problems?  I'm interested in knowing what you have to say when it pertains to all the old games, but specifically punch out because that is my favorite game ever made, and one where timing is incredibly important.  I just want to know if i'll be able to play games like that on HDTV without worrying about timing issues w/ the controller.  Any first hand advice would be appreciated.  thanks

gotcha.  Yea i'm not too familiar w/ his background other than he lived overseas growing up, so i just went on the lower marion 33 jersey, and that dumb a$$ response he gave stephen a smith.  I wonder why he just didn't say that on the show

[QUOTE="stephbm6"]Why did Kobe change his number to 24 anyways?NetYankEagle
it was his High School number

no it wasn't.  his high school number was 33.  My neighbor still has his Lower Marion throwback jersey.  Unless there was another high school he went to that i'm unaware of, which may be possible, his number was 33.  He went on quite frankly at the begining of the season and told steven a. smith about his number change.  He said "why not".  "there are 24 hours in a day".  That's rediculous.  In my opinion, even though it may sound outragous, he changed his number to one up jordan.  I know that sounds crazy but kobe has always been considered to be one that marches to the beat of a different drum.  It sounds obsered but i havent heard a better reason.
