You haven't got a warped game, dvd,cd disc in there have you?-Only i've noticed sometimes when i rip some of my older cds into my 2 month old slim that it makes the same noises as you describe-plus my PS3 80GB phat used to do the same.So just a few moments ago I turned on my PS3 with my controller, and kept the TV on a different input to finish watching a show before I got to playing. Soon though I noticed that there was this weird humming noise, so I went over to the system and saw it was making the sound and vibrating a little. I turned it off, let it sit, and turned it back on but it still makes the same sound.
Thoughts?

Contact Sony while your PS3 is still under warranty or it will cost you £££/$$$ once the warranty is up.Well I have had this PS3 for less then two months ,it is a Slim 250GB model. The past week the disk drive seems to not work to well , it slowly and I mean VERY slowly eats the game ( puts in the system ). It has also gotten stuck a few times. I dusted it and it worked well a couple of times , but then went back to crap. Anyone experience this problem?

Yea -The first tvs are soon to be appearing in UK shops-running in at thousands £s a piece and the glasses are around £100 a pairyeah this sounds pretty expensive then. I just got a new tv not too long ago, so i doubt i'll be getting another new tv any time soon anyway. Too bad, the 3d sounds pretty sweet.

Trouble is-Sooner or later it will die from YLOD same as most other B.C. PS3s are-It's only a matter of time.ya is this thing more valuable? i got it in '08 off of ebay for like 295 bucks and its been working great ever since.

Rear of Slims does get warm cos it's where the internal fans pump out ps3s internal heat build up and is very normal. My PS3 60gb YLOD....again. I fixed it twice awhile ago and worked fine but it YLOD and tried to fix it again for the third time and ...it lasted maybe for a minute. I decided to lay my original 60gb to rest and went got a PS3 Slim. Now you are probably saying this should have been a blog but I do have a question about the Slim. Isn't it suppose to run cooler? After playing for maybe an hour or two I touched the back area of it and it was pretty warm....is this normal? I do have to say one thing though, the Slim is TINY compared to the Phat 60gb....and super quiet!

Nah!-TheNon B.C.80s get it too-I've read several peoples comments on it over last 12 monthsSeems like the only units capable of YLODs are BC models, never heard otherwise.

I wouldn't spend the money on the 60GB refurb you will get from Sony, plus you only get 3 months warranty on it-I sold my broken 60Gb as spares/repairs and now got excellent 120 GB Slim.Mine ylod a couple days ago, I plan on sending it back to Sony so they can repair it for $150.00.

[QUOTE="drummer131"]Stupid question (newbie PS3 owner): How does one backup data?JKG33You can either just copy each save file onto a flashdrive, or under one of the settings options you can do a system backup which copies everything and you need a portable hard drive. I've never actually done a complete System backup, but usually just back up my game save daily to my external Hard drive. How long will a system backup usually take?
