@xantufrog: spot on dude.....it seems like both sides are trying to turn out fan bots......its not like its new as even today people are still talking about sega VS nintendont........man i wish we could just get back to great games......but people would rather care about what disc player it has or if they can play the games from the last gen on the new hardware.......

@HD_ITeRRoRiZeI: saying they are not comparable is missing the real world......saying that everything adds up the same on every level is also missing the real world.....you can always compare things...you just cant always make a level playing field......and truth be told how many game makers are truly going to use everything in DX12???

@howthegodzkill: yeah but its still fragmented the console base.....if you look at everything for what it is right we have 4 consoles to chose from......ONE slim, PS4 slim, PRO and soon Scorpio.......having game makers running everything at 1440/60 and then kicking it up to 2160/60 would still leave 2tf on the table for Scorpio to use on better textures and lighting effects.......the biggest problem is how many game makers are going to program for the higher level of hardware knowing they only need it to run on the old hardware???.......are they really going to spend millions extra on each game to sell to a small market of console owners??? are we really going to see sales of these consoles take off without game makers doing the extra work???.....no matter how i look at it i think both console makers just created fan groups in side their own camps even if both of them will play the same games.....

@swillermann: you dont need a new receiver.......if you make sure you next 4K tv has a SPDIF fiber or coax output you can hook everything 4k to the TV and run one cable to the amp for 5.1 or 7.1.......if your happy with your current set up KEEP IT plus it makes it a little more idiot proof.....if you see a picture you only need to make sure the amp is on the right input.......then you can also put all none 4k inputs on the amp's HDMI input switching network.......IF YOUR happy with your current set up you only need a new TV for 4k.......just make sure it has a SPDIF output......

@swillermann: its not going to cost that much to make....the most expensive thing in the console is the GPU core......right now a AMD 480 is 5.6 or 5.8tf.....the Scorpio is only going to be 6tf for the GPU......a 480 right now is a 200 dollar video card at retail......so just looking at hardware cost the GPU cant cost more then a 100 bucks to make as just a chip as the 200 dollar video card has its own memory, voltage controllers, PCB board and heat sink with fans........

I KNOW what im saying is speculation and truth be told prices will drop in a year and we dont know if the Scorpio will run a current gen GPU or if it will use a custom chip set from the next gen of GPU's AMD is about to come out with........BUT going by TF numbers and what is out cost wise to get to those numbers we should be able to get in ball park of the costs.......with all of that said i dont see it costing more then 600 bucks and may even come in at the 500 dollar mark.......sony doubled the power from the PS4 at 1.8tf to the PRO model at 4tf and still made it to the same 400 dollar price of the first PS4 console.......2tf more for a 100 bucks sounds about right if you only need to change the GPU to get that........will have to wait and see.....

@hawkensha: clock speeds dont matter now as much as they did in the past........a P4 CPU is still listed as one of the fastest ever made as not many CPU's will run 5.8ghz on air all day long for years.........but even with that high of a clock speed a i5 from today in something like the 6600 would kill it in single core tests with the i5 at 3.3ghz and the P4 running 5.8ghz......speed will help some but it still has to be a good CPU core your cranking up.....other wise your cooking a potato......plus i dont remember anything from sony saying it was going to run 4k native unless it was menu options or something stupid like that.....
