My very first console was an Atari 2600...I think I was 5 at the time...but the first one I recieved for Christmas was my NES. I remember that my mom and my aunt had to drive to New Hampshire (I live on the east coast of Maine...so it was a 5 hour drive for them) to pick up 2 NES consoles (limit 1 per customer) as they were sold out in Maine.
Although that console stopped working years ago...I still have R.O.B. and the gyros that came with it (Duck Hunt and Gyromite were the pack in titles).
Of course, I still have fond memories of the consoles I received in the years following....TG16, Genesis, SNES, SegaCD, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, N64, Gamecube, Xbox, X360, PS3.....Wii (ok,....so no really fond memories of that last one....but at least my kids get some use out of it)....
Mix all that with a heaping serving of PC gaming....
I don't plan on buying either one at or close to launch.... However, when I do decide to pick one up, it will likely be a PS4....not because I have anything against the Xbox One...or Microsoft for that matter.
It's 100 dollars cheaper...it's really not a hard decision.
Of course, that may change by the time I decide to pick on up, but until that time...I have plenty to play on PC/360/PS3....not to mention I still have and use almost every console since the release of the 2600....(I believe my favorite 4 would be the NES, Genesis, SNES, and Dreamcast).
@GT_APE @TommyT456 That's because there are a ton of sheep who cannot think for themselves and suffer from low self esteem. Thus they have to attack anything that may have a different opinion then they have on a game.
They take the criticism about a game they like personally, as if it were criticism of their hobbies themselves...
As for the PS4 vs Xbox One....I only give the edge to the PS4 due to price....otherwise I am indifferent...although I will pick up both in time....it will not be on or anywhere near launch.
