Funny How...

... I takes like 2 months to go from level 20, to 21. I heard I took a long time but dang man. Now in like 10 days I'm already at like 35% haha. I love gamespot and all their quirks. In other news I should be doing some homework so I think I'm going to go and get on that.

I havent done my Monthly Salute in a while so Ill get on that tomorrow maybe.

Peace ~ Rj

(haha I never say peace, I thought I would try it out for a change :P)

New Video Blog!

Hey guys I decided to make another vBlog. This time its a bit different. I show gameplay footage and do a voice over so I hope you enjoy. Leave comments on the vid over there if you like. Thanks.

Seattle Mariners Impressions

So let me start off with the Seattle Mariners. I don't predict a fabulous season. But I dont predict a bad one either. The Mariners started out hot then slowly dwindled until now where they are starting to get their swing back. Now that we got the batts back, we lost Berdard which was good and I hope we can get some starters going.

VERDICT: At least a wildcard win or a AL West win. Those Athletics are looking good though.

Other Notes:

I could not go to town (I live on an Island and you can only get off by a car ferry. We dont have a game store at all on the island). So I was not able to pick up my MGS SAGA 2.0 dvd or DS3. However I ordered it off Ebay for 5 bucks. I also might go to town thursday so I might get another dvd for collectors purposes as well as DS3. I can only hope.

Horrible blog I know, but hey its something to read right ;)

The Salute: 4/12 Edition

This weeks salute will add more as I plan to add a section for next buys and impressions. Hope you enjoy. With that this weeks salute goes to:

Oh ya the Metal Gear Solid Franchise. Theres really not a lot to say negative about the series. Its a well made set of a games that no one can deny. After owning all of the MGS games before, I decided to dive into the Essentials collection so I could get back into the story before number 4 came out. Of coarse the games blew my mind again. I forgot how intuitive and creative Kojima was with his games.

I am really excited to get my hands on 4. From all of the videos and images, the game looks like it will be another great one. Especially because Hideo can't even put everything he wants on one blu-ray. I am pumped. Of coarse I will be getting MGS4 but lets see what else I will be picking up soon.

Tomorrows Purcahses:

Yes I will be picking up my Dual Shock 3 tomorrow. I am pumped. I am really excited to get the force feedback from the controller. It will be a fun experience with Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Yes I will also be picking up my beta code. I have already paid off MGS4 so I am going to try to get 2 of them and keep one sealed for collectors purposes. I am really extatic and can't wait. Tomorrow couldn't come any sooner.

The Salute: 3/25 Edition

This Salute goes to:

Not the MGS series but:

Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I can easily call this one of my favorite shooters of all time. The game is simpily amazing. I have always loved the rainbow series. All the way back to Raven Shield. Never played the original. Lockdown was some fun as well. However this game seems to rise above all the previous installments and shine in the bright Vegas lights.

The game has some new features but doesnt really introduce anything revolutionary. Then again why fix what isnt broke? The new sprint feature is extremely welcoming. It quickens the pace and makes the game more intense as picking off online enemies becomes a bit harder. The other nice new addition it the ACES reward system.

The ACES reward system puts a xp bar on the bottom of the screen. You get points for everything you do. You also have ACES which consist of 3 categories. If you do a certain thing for the category you get points for it and can level up your ACES to unlock new items. You also unlock more content through just complete leveling up. It's a nice RPG ****twist that makes for a good amount of fun.

I know there has been some groaning with the online servers. However I have not had any problems and can connect and play lag free in about a minute. And let me tell you, the online play is phenomanal and extremely inviting. Co-op is a snap and fun to mess around with as well.

Overall I highly recommend the game to anyone with a FPS or a TPS intrest. The cover system is still wonderful for experienced players and inviting for those who are just starting to play. Overall the game is at least worth a rent and you should definatly check it out.

Honerable Mention Goes To:

MGS4 Steele Bundle for being SOLD OUT across Japan. Seems like I might need to pre-order quick if I want to get into that beta.

Monthy Salute - 3/4 Edition

So in an attempt to re-amp my slowly dwindling blog. I decided to take the idea from nyc05, without the contest (sorry folks). I thought I would do a monthly blog which might increase soon to more weekley seeing as how finals are almost over. I decided to name it monthly salute because I need to salute those people or games that deserve some talking about.

Another big reason for the name was the first person I would like to salute.

As you may know, Brett Favre announced he would retire from the NFL today. After 17 great years of football, he decided it was his time to go. Some of you may have even seen the forshadowing of the T-Mobile goodbye to goodbye commercial. Brett Favre played almost his whole career at Green Bay with the Packers (aside from the one year with the falcons). He was a 9 time pro-bowl selection, and a superbowl champ. Holding over 6 NFL records isn't to bad either.

Brett, I salute you. Thanks for the wonderful games and years with the NFL. Don't know who will replace you, but whoever it is has some damn big shoes to fill. Good luck man.

Oh ya and R6V2 looks sick so you will get an honerable mention as well :).

Impressions: R6V

I recently picked up Rainbow Six Vegas (The original) as some of you may know from previous blog posts for the PS3. I thought I would post some of my impressions of it seeing as how it was a port from 360 and later in years.

GRAPHICS:

The graphics really dont capture me at all. However in R6V's defense, it is a port from a game that came out some years ago. Looking back on the time it did come out it was most likely one of the most graphical beautiful games available. While Mexico levels look lack lustre and not so detailed, Sin City looks phenomenal and extremely detailed.

GAMEPLAY:

What can I say? The gameplay is downright fun. While im not so much into the feel of R6V in first person, the cover system keeps me comming back. I really like that you have to hold L1 to snap on. It makes me feel like I have control and can easily get away if I need to. Tactics run smooth. While the AI isnt anything to boast about, the amount of true tactics you can do with them is. Every thing from fast rope to rapel. As well as many different door entries.

CAMPAIGN:

Not much to say on it really. Its straight forward and down to the point. It does make you want to keep playing so thats a plus. The cliffhanger ending however is very unforgiving. Terrorist hunt is like a bot game were you can just kill tons of smart AI terrorist. Its challenging but good for co-op fun.

MULTIPLAYER:

Fun. Exactly what the game was meant for. Online is not only fun but exciting. Many different game modes create a unique feal of online gameplay. Ranking system is very fun and user friendly.

OVERALL:

If you have never played the game and are thinking about number 2. Check out 1 first. You can find it at a really low price and it is well worth it. Especially because the online community is still going strong. Check the game out!

Long Time No Blog

Well I have been going a little slow lately on gamespot. I went on a trip snowboarding for spring break. My computers cd/dvd drive also decided to die. I just bought a new one and re-installed windows with it so now it should be working just fine. Expect a video blog and more frequent blogs soon!

RECENT BUYS:

1)Rainbow Six Vegas (original)

2)Uncharted Drakes Fortune (amazing)

Monster Energy: My Obsession

Let me start by saying I absolutly love monster energy drinks. I love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love........ Monster Energy Drinks.

If you have seen my vBlog posts you have probabaly seen the collection of cans which are going to be made into a nice comemorative table when I have enough. Anyway thought I would show you my recent purchases regarding MED (Guarana FTW?)

A much needed backpack (old one broke) with a nice cooler area!

As well as a new swearshirt. Not so much needed but its nice lol.

Eff My Life Take Two

Well I recently made a little system wars bet (by the way you should sign the petition to bring it back search the forums). However I completely forgot about it and now it has come back to haunt me. The Game: DMC4. The Bet: An 8.5 or higher. The Stakes: A spatula smack across the face.

Here's the Full Bet:

snwboardn08: "I bet DMC4 will score an 8.5 or higher on either ps3 or 360. If I am wrong. I will use my playstation eye and eyecreate to capture myself or a friend smacking me across the face with a spatula. I will also put a picture of the smack in my sig with a photoshoped picture of the system wars owned banner."

So In my next vBlog which could be tonight or tomorrow night, you will be able to witness my pain in its entirety. Feel free to comment on it. I dont care lol. I thought it would get an 8.5 but im not mad at all. A bet is a bet and I WILL FULFILL IT!
