I personally just can not fathom how anyone can be so hooked on a franchise to not protest with their wallet. I have not bought a number of games this gen because of their microtransaction rubbish, along with refusing to pay for PSN. If more people did that, these companies would be in such dire financial need, they would stop their fraudulent behaviour...sadly that is just not happening.

@Solaryellow: I dunno where you were buying games but in the UK I used to pop over to the old electronic boutique, now GAME and could pick up a new game on the PS1/2/XBX etc for around £30. In a ocuple months it could go down to £20-25 with pre owned even cheaper.

A current Switch game costs £50+ whereas a PS4 game can cost anywhere between £40-50 brand new. If you take into account the stagnant rate of pay increase in the country, thats a massive jump, as highlighted by general inflation problems in the UK leading to the pound dropping further just this week.

@ArchoNils2: I said its possible but I said its A - not the same as releasing on a PC and B - its of a lesser quality so why would anyone do it?

I gotta wade into the whole indie discussion. I think what crimson is getting at is he wants a great, sp experience with AAA qualities and thats just not possible with indies. The closest may be Senua because of how damn good it looks but its a pretty short game from what I've read.

I dunno what crimson would say on this or any of the others, but personally, the indies dont really touch what AAA developers were doing from around the late 90s to just before the start of this gen. Much like crimson, I'm a bit tired of modern gaming and all its bs.

Wheres that guy who invaded by BF2 beta thread and was clearly working for EA. I and many others who played the beta saw the problem instantly. One of the biggest problems is that sights like this and others wouldnt even have brought up microtransactions, or done so in maybe one line, if the beta had never been released and we hadnt all seen it ourselves.

Are we forgetting reviews of the LOTR game and how barely any mentioned the microtransactions?

They are all in it together. But we have the power, if only we realised it, to not buy any of these games. Not one.
