Everything that I have seen and read about UC4, makes me think they are heading in the right direction. It will of course, have similar elements to the other games in the series and I enjoy the fast paced climbing and run-and-gun shooting mechanics with some cover system. However, with all that, ND are adding in things I've wanted for a while i.e. fully playable vehicle sections, branching paths and bigger, less linear levels.

I felt and I know a lot of other people did too, that UC3 became way too scripted and held our hands throughout most of the campaign. This seems to be rectifying some of that.

There looks to be a good line up on it's way, with Detroit, Wild, Horizon....but some of these games are a year or so away, what's to get till then that can't be bought on a previous gen console or isn't an indie title?

The answer is nothing.

It was fun but felt a bit uneven at times. Then again, with just one mode there's not much to say. Wish the beta had showed a bit more.

@Pedro: aaaaah! I understand what you're saying and yes, at times, there is a disconnect but again, going back to games like Fallout 3 or especially Mass Effect 2, there are a lot of choices completely down to you and the story is shaped around the decisions you make.

However, with regards to some of the games you quoted, I completely agree, especially something like Uncharted. It's great fun at times but too much of it is scripted, so you'll be in a gunfight and you're fighting for your life but in the end it doesn't matter because a cut scene plays and you get saved. There's a disconnect between the player and the game and the game and the story. It's why I have never felt Uncharted or similar games fall into the truly great category.

There are so many games with excellent stories AND excellent game play, which also allow enough freedom for us to create our own, unique experiences, just look at ME 2 or Fallout 3, we can add in MGS 1-4 to that least as well.

The Uncharted series is one that is so enamoured with the movies, that it takes away too much control from the gamer and pretty much everyone playing it ends up with the same experience.

Also, did I mention Red Dead and GTA V?

I haven't downloaded a pirated PC game in years...maybe 6 or 7. Piracy for games probably hit its peak around 2005/06, sincet hen, things h ave gotten a lot more difficult.

I like a lot of those games on that list...making my own...I dunno, it would take me a lot of time to do it properly (will do one day) but a rough top 10 would probably look like:

1. Half Life 2 (and the episodes)

2. Metal Gear Solid 3

3. Mario 64

4. Fallout 3

5. Mass Effect 2

6. Age of Empires 2

7. Tekken 3

8. Shogun: Total War

9. Metal Gear Solid

10. FF XII
