So you lost 20 gigs and you happy? :?

Unknown_Hero3
He lost 20GB but now have a fully B/C console and the drive can be upgraded. The 80GB is not fully B/C.

Woot! Slim PS3 for life!!! That is, if I had money and if I wanted an extra PS3 to collect dust. :P You guys who waited are so lucky!

SGTiD1NG0

Not really would you wanted to have waited so long just to get a new model that practically pointless compared to the fat versions

It's about preference. the Slim arguably has a worse design (opinion) but it is alot better and anyone waited is in for a teat. they're pating $$$$ less for a console which is better in many ways such as -3x less power consumption. Lighter and thinner for more maneovability and it has a Bravia sync so you can use your Bravia remote with it (you're stuffed if you don't have a Bravia). Of course the Slim isn't worse and it's better (not by much). I think what PSFanboy is trying to say is anyone who waited has got the real deal!

You people are so funny, now cause you're going to get the Slim you are praising it and telling everyone Oh the Slim is the best PS3 and cost less and uses less energy. Wow it uses 250v of energy and the 80GB uses 280v, wow what a difference. Wow it is better, it have a cheaper Blue Ray drive and cheaper materials wow. If you like it and want it then buy one, if you have the original and don't like it anymore then sell it and get a Slim, if your curren model dies then get a Slim but you should stop telling nonsenses to everyone.

Inside of a Slim:

Look now the cables are in place by tapes.

Inside of an original PS3:

Looks like better quality and there's no cheap tape holding cables.

[QUOTE="Gangstah-Fresh"]The console I bought was sold at a loss for sony, the slim is sold at a profit. I got more bang for my buck with the 80 gb motorstorm ps3 and I don't regret it. Although I will pick one up when it drops in price 2 years down the road as a bluray player for sure loll

People always like to talk without tinking, Sony still sell the Slim at a loss, take a look at this: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/25/hirai-ps3-slim-sold-at-a-loss-but-business-profitable-overall/

no offense but it seems clear you made this topic to make yourself and a few others feel better because you dont want to pay for a slim... but the slim is better, why would they make something that is worse than the past?

Never3ndingLife

Dude you need to use your mind better. What makes the Slim better? The price? the cheaper Blue Ray drive and components? What? it is the same console the only difference is that they are using a cheaper Blue Ray drive and components plus it is slimmed down but it is still a PS3.

Who cares? If I didn't already have my 60 GB I would get the slim. It's lighter and uses less power than the original. I don't see where people are getting this idea that slimmer models of consoles will overheat or whatever. They made all the parts smaller so it doesn't use so much energy. If anything I would say the slim would be less likely to overheat. The original PS3 gets pretty hot on the side in general. I don't see what the big issue is with BC either. The PS2 has been out almost 9 years, there is no reason for people to have 60+ games they still need to play on the system. Just because you might have that many doesn't mean you play them all. I had like 50 some odd games before PS3 came out and I only played like 3 or 4 of them.

People refusing to get a new system because it's ugly or because it doesn't have BC are pretty shallow. Since when does a look of a system have to do with the quality of games it has or puts out? Since when does enjoyment of new games have to do with being able to play last generation games? Isn't the point of getting the new system to play the new games you can't play on the previous system.

Dude it uses 250v of energy compare to the 80gb that uses 280v, that's not a big difference and the only part smaller is the power supply. Every console with multi cores will heat. What i found funny is that people are tying to justified their purchases, now everybody that was cheap and is going to buy the Slim are telling last owners and everyone, Hey i got a superior console than yours mines need less energy and is smaller.

HOLY WOW. I just turned my Slim on for the first time and Christ... it is dead silent! :D

zarko
I KNOW!!!! ITS CRAZYY SILENT!!! The design looks so much better in person than on photos and video comparison.

People always justifying their purchases. It is that silent cause you're turning it on for the first time. After it has been turned on and you start playing mute the volume to see if it's dead silent, oh and wait for the system to accumulate dust in the inside.

HOLY WOW the Slim is dead silent cause you're turning it on for the first time, but wait like half an hour after you start playing and mute the tv it won't be dead silent.
