Valkyria Chronicles!

Picked it up today and played about 4 hours! Fricken sweet game and lives up to my exspectations so far. If you own a PS3 do yourself a favor and purchase this game.

I will have further impressions when I get some more hours in.

Goodbye

What the flippin hell is wrong with me???

Alright so over the weekend I downloaded Mega Man 1, 2, and 3 for the virtual console. So far I have beaten Mega Man 2 and pretty far with 3. I am not having to much trouble with them at all. They are definately difficult but not so much to get really frustrated over.

A month or so ago I downloaded Mega Man 9 and I can't beat anything not one single flippin boss!!! What the **** is wrong with me. I just don't get it.

From a lot of Mega Man enthusiasts Mega Man 9 isn't that hard and would probably be ranked in the middle with Mega Man 1-6.

Really is their something wrong with me???

Turning 24 today November 11th 2008

I celebrated over the weekend with friends and family. Had a nice dinner with the family Friday night and then went out drinking/played some pool with my friends. It was nice since everyone I called actually showed up to hang with me.

I received some nice gifts too! From my loving wife I got five lift tickets to go snowboarding and a shirt from my favorite band Mono (Japanese post-rock). That alone made my day! But wait there is more. From my brother I got Dead Space which is awesome. Still haven't been able to play it since I am finishing up Resistance 2. I am definitely stoked to play some Resident Evil in space! Received a not one but two pairs of pants from my parents. My favorite kind of jeans to the 569 loose straight Levis. Then today in the mail I got a 2,000 Wii points card from my aunt which was definitely a surprise since I wasn't expecting anything but a card with a dollar inside. I went ahead and downloaded Secret of Mana. Left the other points in there since I have downloaded everything I wanted so far.

OK enough ranting about my awesome gifts! Saturday I went and saw Rise Against and Thrice. Really good sold out show! My wife loves Rise Against and I enjoy their music also. I thought Thrice played an awesome set and definitely sounded fricken sweet to my ears. Overall a very good concert and was happy my wife enjoy it a lot.

Now that I got my lift tickets ready and all my gear. IT NEEDS TO FLIPPIN SNOW on Mt. Hood some more. It received (wow my new favorite word I guess 'received', I guess I just really hate saying got since it really isn't a word) about 24 inches of snow this past week but then started raining again. I'm really hoping next week it will dump a few feet so I can finally get to snowboarding again!

A big thanks goes out to jt4mtb for making me an awesome Zelda banner! I really appreciate that took some time to make me a banner. If you give me your address I will send you some home baked cookies!! (made by my wife, there really good)

Alright some game notes from me.

-Resistance 2 is bigger and well not entirely better then Resistance 1. I definately enjoyed the single-player campaign of R2 but the charm and a few of the gameplay elements from R1 I enjoyed a lot more. (I will have better written impressions in another blog post)

-The only game left on my MUST BUY list is Valkyria Chronicles. Other then that I am picking up Mirrors Edge this week and received Dead Space as a B-day gift. There are some other games that I wouldn't mind picking up but not 1st priority

-I'm currently playing Devil May Cry on Hard, Zelda Majora's Mask and Wind Waker on the GC, Purchased Secret of Mana on the Virtual Console and will try to find some time to play, and will be playing some Dead Space probably over the weekend.

The Portland Trailblazers are on a 3-game winning streak and beat a tough Houston and Orlando team. Both stellar games. Hope the streak continues on Wednesday vs. the Miami Heat.

24: Exile will be airing November 23rd just 12 more days away!!

That about raps it up

Metallica for free?

I guess my brother got 4 free tickets to see Metallica November 1st. He invited me and my wife. I've always enjoyed their music to some extent. Nothing I would sit and listen to for hours on end like a lot of other music I am into. They will problem put on a great show as in showmanship. For free isn't to bad, I have no idea if I will be last row in the back behind a metal pole or front row. We shall see, I will update about this after November 1st.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My weird gaming habits? Last week I bought the Zelda's collectors edition for gamecube. I already have three out of four of those games downloaded on my Wii and three out of four of those I have in NES carts and N64 carts. I lost my copy of Majora's Mask a while back and had a fixing to play it. So I bought the Zelda's collectors edition just for that game. I found it at gamecrazy for $30 and I had a %20 percent off coupon so I snatched it up.

I can't tell you how much I love and adore the Zelda series. It has been a real treat in my life and childhood to play these games. I hollow out every one of these titles. I beat these games with only having three hearts and no deaths. I get every Gold Skulloton and every empty bottle.

Yet I keep playing them and every minute I do I am in pure bliss! There is no game that will ever top this series for me. Thank you Nintendo and thank you Link for always having my back!! (even if I put in crazy obscure names)

Shining Force II

I was so happy when this title hit the Nintendo virtual console this Monday. Shining Force has been my favorite downloadble game that I never got a chance to play and I have downloaded around 35 games so far. Shining Force II has been my most anticipated title for a long time now and I finally get to download it today and play it all weekend. I'm stoked!!!

I used to enjoy being sick!

Yah backed when I was in school being midly sick was awesome! I got to stay home from school and play video games all day. So much awesome time with Zelda ALTTP and Zelda OoT among other games.

Now being midly sick means I get to go to work feeling like crap and also going to college feeling lame! Ugh well atleast I don't believe it is getting worse and hopefully I will be fine by the weekend.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I reserved Bioshock, Resistance 2, and Mirror's Edge last weekend! This fall/winter is going to be Awesome! Playing video games, going up Snowboarding, finally the return of 24, watching my beloved Portland Trailblazers, and seeing family. I haven't been this happy with my life in a long time. Not because of all that I mentioned but mainly I am putting forth effort to better myself. Taking college classes and retaining knowledge.

Also I believe I finally cured my sickness that is substance abuse. For a long time this was at the forefront of my mind and it ruined whatever bliss that is life. Of course I enjoy the occasional buzz off of alcohol but it isn't what I think about. I think about enjoying my time with friends and family.

Here's to a wonderful end of 08 and beginning of 09!!

Get me out of here!

I have been working my current job for about 20 months now. It isn't a horrible job and the pay is about where it should be for what I do. I just get no satisfaction and there is no chance of advancement. I also can't stand the people I work with and I hate the whole environment of this company.

To remedy this situation I am taking trade school classes this year and hopefully get into an apprenticeship or entry level position by this coming summer. I am a bit nervous since I haven't been in a classroom type environment for five years.

I pray to God this will get me out of here!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the game side of life. I recently took up gamefly to test it out. The service is right I just don't think I am the renting type. The five must play games that are coming out in October and November I actually want to purchase. Everything else I don't really care until they come down in price and if there are good reviews I might pick up later. So after the end of this month I will cancel it.

My most anticipated games *update*!!!!

1. Mirror's Edge - Honestly this fell on the back-burner until recently I saw some vids and I must say this is my style full of aces!!!! This is the type of stuff I would want to do in real life. 1st day purchase times a thousand

2. Resistance 2 - I recently picked up the first one for $20 bucks as I needed another game to play and I am not much of a shooter fan. After the first hour of the game I knew this was for me. I am extremely excited for the sequel of course.

3. Valkryie Chronicles - From the art to the game play this looks amazing to me. My favorite RPG's are the strategy kind! This game has those elements plus some new fancy ones that will stand out.

4. Tales of Symphonia 2 - The only RPG on the gamecube worth playing and I loved every minute of it. I am stoked they made a sequel and hopefully live up to it's predecessor.

5. Bioshock - The one game that almost made me buy the Xbox over the PS3. Now that it is coming to the Playstation I will probably never feel the need to buy the 360. From the story to the atmosphere should be a great ride.

Resistance: Fall of Man

I purchased Resistance Sunday and was able to complete it tonight. I thought the game was really well done. The story was a little generic but overall not to shabby. I can see some gamers complaints but to me it was awesome.

I am not much of a multi-player gamer so the campaign needs to be steller and Resistance was full of aces from the weapons to the controls. I guess one of my big complaints were the variety of enemies. Wasn't to bad but there weren't any big guys that take time and effort to destroy.

8.5/10

Can't wait for Resistance 2!!!
