@psuedospike @foxrock66 so someone who likes starfox is a furry? what about someone who like sonic the hedgehog or donkey kong or banjo kazooie or Duck Tales?
@Sonicgod @stan_boyd How is metroid not a platformers? you jump from platform to platform and solve puzzles then jump on more platforms shoot some enemies then jump on more platformers. As far as you thinking limbo and braid are crap well thats your opinion but one thing that is undeniable is they have far deeper gameplay and puzzle solving elements than ducktales or pretty much any nes game. And 3d platformers are still platformers and they are more complex than the old 2d nes platformers, nes could do 3d if they wanted to.
@Judecca7734 @jimbo6923 @Magoto2007 @stan_boyd I wear my nostalgia glasses everytime I play an old game, I mean seriously compared to games now the original Deus Ex is terrible in control, sound, voice acting etc etc etc, but I still love it.
@miser_cz @stan_boyd @Sonicgod maybe, or maybe I just like turn based games like shadowrun, xcom, final fantasy tactics, tactic ogre, vandal hearts etc. And maybe I like games that give the gaming community the chance to make their own game like Neverwinter Nights did and Shadowrun did as well, or maybe its that I like cyberpunk, or maybe its all of that. Cause honestly I think the old snes and sega games were really just grind fests, the campaign was about 2 hours long and the other 20 hours was just grinding for money.
@Sonicgod @stan_boyd braid, super meatboy, Limbo, and Journey to name a few, and then there were some greats from last generation like Beyond Good and Evil, Psychonauts, Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter, and even on snes there were platformers that had more complexity to it like Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid etc, This game by todays standards is shallow and simple, so an unbiased review of this game would be low since unbiased means taking off the nostalgia goggles and comparing it to what gaming is today.
@Tripwolf @Derpalon @bannermanner well then you are lucky it got the score it did, because really the only reason anyone would give this game a high score is if they based their opinion on nostalgia, cause really compared to new platformers of this generation this game is shallow and easy. So really in order to do an unbiased review you need to ignore your nostalgia glasses and review it on its merits in todays gaming standards which it doesn't really have any.
