@Stag_Lee @AventusAretino @djwood84 one benefit is with digital gaming games can be saved on servers like the cloud getting rid of the need of disks, which means the need to compress a game to fit on a disk meaning games could be much larger and more ambitious cause they are no longer need to fit X amount of gigabytes.
@Sovereign @AventusAretino @stan_boyd but the reason you can only play the mmos when online is cause most of the game is on online servers, so if a game like skyrim was stored mostly online like mmo's are then you can have infinitely huge gameworlds, on minecraft the worlds are infinite on pc on xbox they have a limit.
what I find funny is how everyone complains about all the remake movies that are being done now, but when it comes to games remakes are supposed to be exempt from critics and should only be based on nostalgia and not compared to todays standards.
@AventusAretino @JoeGamer1234 i am not preordering as I learned from previous generations of both xbox and playstation to wait til the bugs get worked out. I had to send in a xbox for the red ring and I had to send in a ps3 due to it no longer spitting my disk back out when I hit eject just 3 weeks after I got it.
@poopinpat @stan_boyd @markml99 or maybe remasters just shouldn't be reviewed since the only way to review them is solely on nostalgia, and if you don't have the nostalgia to review it with then chance are you won't appreciate it.
@leviathanwing @stan_boyd @Diegoctba is it? what about MMO's WoW's world is massively huge as is Guild Wars and Rift's? sure they are mmo's that require you to be online at all times, but the tech seems to be there.
@AventusAretino @TheLordsbeacon I want to see games go full digital, then disk space will no longer be a factor in how big a game can be. Look at MMO's for example and how everything is stored on a server and so they have massively huge game worlds, I want to see a GTA game 20 times bigger than GTA 4 I want to see a Fallout game that is an entire state instead of one city or an elder scrolls game 20 times the size of skyrim. but that will only happen when disks are no longer a factor.
@Diegoctba its gonna happen eventually, right now for example games are limited to what can fit on a disc, meanwhile there are servers that make discs obsolete and make a blueray disc look like a midget in size. imagine if bethesda could make a world 20 times bigger than skyrims because they don't need to worry about disk space, or gta 20 times bigger.
