Did anyone else find the bosses to be a huge let down in this one? Most of them were just stupid looking... like Tentalus.. dear God, I don't know how anyone saw concept art of Tentalus and thought, "Yeah, this is one bad ass looking boss."

I'm not saying that some of them weren't fun, but most felt more like mini bosses to me and I couldn't stand the repeat battles.

[QUOTE="hiphops_savior"][QUOTE="locopatho"] When Mario Galaxy 2 got a 10, no one had any problem with scores then...glez13

The problem isn't with the score, but with the review itself justifying the score. SMG2's 10 and the review is consistent with everyone else. Skyward Sword, however, the criticism of the controls contradicted other review sites, which played a big factor into why it got a 7.5.

But Tom has already said that even without the control problems he would probably still give it a 7.5. What he didn't like mostly was the padding, the fact that it is basically the same game since OOT. He went into further details in the latest Hotspot.

Then that's even worse.. He brought up control issues and lamented about them for much of his review, but that negative about the game had no effect on the score??

[QUOTE="charizard1605"]This game is back to being a 95 on Metacritic, folks! Based on 38 reviews: http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-swordGiveMeSomething

Really sad news. When will gaming move forward instead of just rehashing 25 years old games. One minute of silence for my loss (and some others'), please.

The first Zelda=Skyward Sword

Absolutely no gameplay improvements.

[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"][QUOTE="locopatho"] Not down the gutter but some series are stagnating and others are ignored, that ain't good!93BlackHawk93

1. give me an example of these stagnating series? Are you talking solely about GS scores? 2. they brough back DK and kirby though. Even in the GC they didn't get a proper game.

Metroid.

Uh.. what? Metroid Prime 1-3 are all absolutely brilliant games. Haven't played Other M yet, but from what I hear the problem with that game is not the "stagnating" Metroid formula.

Xenoblade got a 9 nobody is complaining its just that the review is crap its not really hard to believe that people dont like the review

Mario1331

You mean fanboys. Those people will probably turn around one day and see what's wrong with its direction/execution, just like they did TP. The hate for that review was epic then finally everybody complained about its clunky controls and outdated presentation and it was all justified.

i stil think TP is an excellent game but w.e

if tom doesnt like the game then so be it but not everybody has to like his review it was short, he made mistakes(not that serious but sloppy) and hes so far off from what everybody else is saying, you cant blame people for not liking the review NEITHER can you say he is honest or credible because he gave SS a score the haters wanted it to get anyway

BUT i could care less for this stuff im still going to enjoy and buy the game

This pretty much sums up how I feel about the review.

[QUOTE="Deadbeatcobra"]

looks at gamespot score....

looks at Metacritic.......

AzatiS

Now seriously. Let me ask you something , you almighty wii fans. He said controls are NOT 100% responsive all the times and you might even lose because some move didnt trigger. To tell something like this must be true since its not an opinion , its something anyone can see for himself. Now i ask you this. HOW A GAME that its controls are OFF and weird stuff can happen in game can SCORE 100!!!?

Its because Wii-mote always is kinda off that we need to bypass this fact when it comes to good games like Zelda? Arent controls affecting gameplay directly? How wii fans can be so defensive to 7.5 or Giantbombs 8 when TO BEGIN WITH there are gameplay flaws?

So someone that pointing out that Zelda SS doesnt bring something new to the table and pointing out a fact , like controllers responsiveness , is a BAD REVIEWER and 5-8 others that BYPASS all these facts and giving 100 ( which means game excels in everything and has 0 FLAWS ) are the unbiased and good REVIEWERS? what can i say here.... Im out...

I can't play Skyrim on a 360 controller, I will die because the action I wanted to perform didn't work the way I thought it would using the controller. It is a FACT that Skyrim is awfully controlled on the 360 controller, everyone must just be overlooking this OBVIOUS FACT to be giving it glowing reviews.

[QUOTE="lbjkurono23"] As usual, it's all fun and games until someone's feelings get hurt. Don't worry, time heals all wounds and before you know it, a wii game will get a favorable score and everything will be forgotten.

[QUOTE="Jolt_counter119"]

[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"] My GF owns a daycare and every kid there has one ages 4 to 12 and no adults in my personal life have one, sorry if I can only base my opinions on personal experience. My opinion is that nintendo is mainly designed for kids nowadays and the only thing that will change that is if nintendo grows up a bit. And yes to me, my opinion is fact ;) I dont care what anyone else here thinks about it.

Advid-Gamer

Dude I don't know if you know this but video games are aimed at a primarily children and teenage market. Video games have not, or ever been a grown up thing, I don't think you're going to have a girlfriend talk to her friends about how mature you are because you play Skyrim and Assassins Creed.

Thats such a cop-out, playing games geared towards a older audience dosent make anyone cool who plays them, we play them because we enjoy them because they are geared towards a older audience. This bs that goes on here that people only like those games to feel "cool" is a defense the nintendo fans came up with a few years ago, and my gf hates any games that I play dosent matter what they are, no one is talking about them.

Video games are made for kids. "Mature" video games are made for teens that think it's cool to like "mature" stuff. I have yet to see anything in video games that really approaches having true mature themes. Well I take that back, there are a few RPGs such as Planescape that really do have outstanding mature stories. You could also bring up The Witcher series but those are ruined by their adolescent portrayals of sex.
