[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"]

[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"] SMG1 and 2 were amazing, nintendo at its best ill give them that, but everything else did not appeal to me. Advid-Gamer

aaaaand here is where I stop reading.

There's a clear difference between a developer going down hill, and a developer making games that don't appeal to you.

You would stop reading there, because it makes you feel as if you are correct in some strange way, 2 good games all gen give me a break.

Correction, only 2 good games that appeal to you. Get over yourself.

So lemme get this straight... Tom admits to being wrong about how the controls work but doesn't go back to say that maybe that is why he was having so much trouble? I mean it's clear that he played the entire game with the wrong impression since he put it in his review... maybe he needs to revisit it.

elcoholic

What does it matter if the controls suck through IR or through motion plus? The outcome is the same isn't it? He didn't like them!

The controls sucked for him because he wasn't using them right. He had the wrong impression of how they worked which lead to trouble.. that is beyond personally disliking the controls, that is just being an awful journalist. As a reviewer, it is your job to at least attempt to be objective, even if you personally don't like a control scheme, you can be objective about it. For example, I hate playing Skyrim on a 360 controller but I wouldn't rate down on the game because of my own predisposition to dislike the 360 controller.

[QUOTE="PurpleMan5000"][QUOTE="CaveJohnson1"]7.5

CaveJohnson1

It has also received 15 perfect 10's. What is your point?

Alot of those were Nintendo based groups, and alot of those are probably just doing a fan service.

This game doesn't deserve a 10 based on graphics alone, so I can tell you those reviews are BS.

Uh.. what? Clearly you haven't even looked at the 10/10 reviews.

[QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"] Well, I agree that people are overreacting about it, but it looks like he really did make a mistake, and he clearly faulted the game for it in the video review. I think he made a mistake describing the controls not actually playing them and others in the office seem to agree with him.CaveJohnson1

so others in the office agree with him...yet no other reviews out there can say the same that the gamespot offices are experiencing? you dont' think that seems a bit...odd?

Maybe he's one of the few being honest, same thing happened with TP, everybody gave it great reviews but GS gave it an 8.8. We played it, and it was an 8.8 game, not something completely amazing like everybody else said, it had major flaws, but the GS reviewer admitted it.

I think reviewers inflate scores like Zeldas because there's suck a backlash when it doesn't get the score fanboys want. Just look at this thread, it stretches for thousands of pages of fanboys whining.

I think most just lack the integrity or balls to admit there were major flaws in the game, cater to fanboys who will throw their 14 year old hissy fit if they don't get the review they want.

I think this thread will be remembered for a while in SW as a symbol for how immature sheep really are.

Yep, that makes a lot of sense. Literally ONLY 1 reviewer has the balls to give Zelda a low score, everyone else is just a fanboy or was bought off. THANK GOD FOR GAMESPOT!!

[QUOTE="Heil68"] Yea, we all know Tom reviews games well with his AAA Editors Choice Uncharted 3 review being a prime example. This game just didn't deserve such a prestigious score, pretty simple. Heil68

Yep Tom is the only honest reviewer in the industry. Because going against the grain definitely means you're being honest, definitely without a hidden agenda of any kind. Everyone else must have been bought off, makes a lot of sense.

So Tim is dishonest now and has a hidden agenda? Hold on, let me get my tin foil hat. :lol Its called an opinion, much the same as you apparently have one! :o Where you up in arms about any of his other past reviews? The dc is strong in this thread, yes.

Uh... no. I was being sarcastic... trying to be ridiculous to highlight how ridiculous you are actually being.

Just because he rated it low doesn't mean he is somehow an honest reviewer. In fact, it makes him look less honest when his review directly contradicts so many others.

All this damage control is getting annoying. You people have not even played the game, why dont you play it first, before bashing tom for a score on a game you have never played. These excuses are pathetic

[QUOTE="percech"]

[QUOTE="bbkkristian"] You just contradicted yourself...bbkkristian

Not really. It's a lot more subtle than gamefaqs, but it is happening.

Eh the TP was much more out of control.

For real, TP was the worst thing I've ever seen on this board.
