@heqteur: Rocky Balboa proves my point. He realized he had run the series into the ground. He even went on record when asked what he would rate Rocky 5 on a scale of one to ten and his answer was "A zero." There's a 16 year gap between the making of Rocky 5 and Rocky Balboa, which was plenty of time to come up with a solid script. He didn't even want to call the movie "Rocky 6" because of how bad he felt about Rocky 5.
So like I said, he learned his lesson with Rocky 5.
And yes, Rocky Balboa was an excellent movie. The guy knows how to write a script when he puts his mind to it. Probably has my second favorite monologue in all of cinema (First Blood having #1). You could argue that The Expendables is a braindead script, but that was the point from the beginning. The series is 100% fan service to the action movies of the 80's and 90's.
Stallone is a smart guy and a great actor/script writer. He knows when to call it quits -- a lesson learned from Rocky 5. He's also not afraid to own up to his own mistakes and be real when a movie, even some of his own, are garbage. He's not about the money, something that Bruce Willis could take a lesson from.
@zerohournow: Judging by the original poster which showed Galahad's glasses with a round shattered indentation, I'm guessing the glasses are bulletproof and magnetic. I mean, they have bulletproof umbrellas after all.
@Vojtass: I agree with what you said. Popularity is a factor however. I feel pretty much the same way you do in regards to EverQuest being overlooked in favor of World of Warcraft. One clearly inspired the other, but in the end, the other ended up more popular.
The irony is, when Resident Evil began to decline, the first person horror indie scene blew up and Resident Evil once again had to barrow ideas.
