Seriously people, who doesn't play on more than one platform these days? Most people have a PS4 also, and there's plenty there to play once you get tired of Zelda. By the time you're done with all of those games, the Switch will have Mario Kart 8 (which most missed out on because they didn't buy a Wii U), Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and probably at least one of the Dragon Quest games by the end of the year. Not to mention good low budget games like Binding of Issac: Afterbirth+, I Am Setsuna, and Blaster Master Zero.
The only ones with a reason to bitch about not having games to play are the Xbox One crowd, because the games they do have are either on PS4 or PC also.
This is shaping up to be one of the better years in gaming in a long time, and rather than celebrating it, people just want to keep trash talking cause of blind fanboyism.
I'm enjoying the hell out of my Switch currently and when I get bored of it, I have Nier: Automata, Nioh, and Horizon: Zero Dawn to look forward to. Doesn't mean I'll be selling my Switch any time soon, because like the PS4, greatness awaits.
I admit, I'm a little blown away. I can't recall an instance where Gamespot, IGN, Game Informer, Polygon, and Giant Bomb had all given the same game a perfect score. The game currently sits at a 98 on Metacritic after 56 reviews, with the lowest score at a 90%. The only game to have a higher score than that is, ironically, Ocarina of Time.
Judging by the divide that is already occurring with what little information we have, I can only image the shitshow that is going to plague the internet for years once this finally releases. It will be "which version is better?" topics galore complete with overly dramatized and easily triggered flame wars. Greatness awaits......
@tommyd79: I too wonder what the LV. 1 press △ thing is about. It is noticeably absent in the other picture with Cloud hiding behind a crate -- but in that picture, his ATB gauge is empty. Are you able to 'charge' the ATB gauge beyond the original first filling, similar to that of the Mana/Seiken Densetsu series? Who knows.
I, like you, got a glimmer of hope after seeing the ATB gauge. But again, I need to see how all of these elements come together.
@Acillatem1993: Why does that matter? Every entry was cutting edge for it's time, and in the case of 3 and 4, they were remade for then current gen handhelds. If people wanted to play an entirely new Final Fantasy game, they'd ask for Final Fantasy 16, not a remake of arguably the best entry in the series.
I think most people would be happier with a Final Fantasy 7 remake with last gen quality graphics than a current gen re-envisioning of Final Fantasy 7 where absolutely everything is different.
