The FF7: Remake screen shots are interesting, mostly because of the menus. Despite the look of the battle system being more action oriented, there's still an ATB gauge. Interesting. There also appears to be a "Command" option above the main options. This is either to switch to more battle options (Summon, Skills, etc.) or the more likely case to switch between party members (it better be!). Limit gauge is now separated into three blocks. Time will tell what that means.

The elephant in the room is obviously the "Materia" battle option that appears to be greyed out. In the original, materia isn't even talked about until everyone meets up at Tifa's bar, so it makes sense that it is greyed out. However, one has to wonder what its purpose is. Are you going to be able to configure materia mid battle? Seems unlikely. My guess it is an all inclusive menu for battle skills, summons, or any other abilities granted by "materia" that doesn't fall under "magic".

It also seems that during battle you have full control over movement, if the circles on the ground from the boss are any indication. Very reminiscent of MMO's and their "get out of the circle of x" mechanics.

I hope the game turns out well, I really do. I need to see the game properly demoed before I can start getting excited for it.

@hayato_: I think the "bitchin" stems from the fact that when SE remade all previous main entry games, they left their battle systems mostly untouched. That, with the fact people have been asking for a FF7 remake for years now, coupled with the repeated shortcomings of the series in recent years, and people are cautiously skeptical towards it -- and rightfully so.

@Aleperez75: Did I mention third party at all? Does this article mention third party at all? My post was about the comparison between the two when it comes to first party exclusives. So, how about YOU go educate yourself on reading comprehension.

Nice click-bait Gamespot. Title should have read:

Activision Listed Among "World's Most Admired" Companies... by 3,800 executives, analysts, directors, and experts who only care about making money.

Now Xbox One fans know how the Wii U fans have felt for the last four years. "Going to be a great year for *insert Wii U or Xbox One here*". Only difference is when a first party exclusive did release for the Wii U, it was actually worth playing.

@CallMeDuraSouka: The thing is, Gamespot's scores are all over the place. Remember, Final Fantasy 13 got an 8.5, was written by one of the best reviewers Gamespot ever had (Keven VanOrd), and yet that game is one of the biggest examples of "love it or hate it" I can think of.

Instead of judging a game by its score, people should look at the pros and cons (you know, actually READ the review) as a way of determining if the game is right for them.

This baffles me on a number of levels.

First of all, Bethesda sites "stability issues" as the reason, when they still, five years later, have yet to fix over a hundred known bugs in Skyrim alone.

Second of all, stability issues with mods are primarily caused when multiple mods modify the same thing. There is absolutely nothing Bethesda can do to prevent user error.

Third of all, in order to reach this cap, you would have to download mods that are only minuscule in size in order to avoid hitting the limit on allotted space. PS4 should have an easier time with this, considering most of the big mods don't make it to PS4 because of the use of external assets, yet PS4's limit is even tighter than Xbox One. Waat?

Finally, why was nothing mentioned about this in the patch notes? Is Bethesda actively trying to piss people off when people's attitudes towards modding on consoles are already extremely uppity?

I honestly don't understand how this change is going to help anything at all. It isn't going to help with the stability issues caused by mods, nor is this cap much of an issue on consoles considering the already stingy limits on allotted mod space.

You want to do something useful, Bethesda? How about you fix the issue with deleted mods leaving junk files on the system that users are unable to remove without a full reinstall of the entire game. This has plagued Fallout 4 since the beginning. Maybe, just maybe, that has something to do with your "stability issues".

@chriss_m: No. Your definition of "freedom of speech" isn't protected by anything or even recognized by law. The only time principles are protected is when they fall under religious beliefs, which doesn't apply here.

@tainted0ne: Again, how are you so sure? Mine sit upright without a bra, and they're bigger and natural.

@ArabrockermanX: Exactly. This generation of children seem to think that "freedom of speech" is the right to say whatever the hell you want. Doesn't work that way, kiddies. It only protects you from being persecuted for speaking out against your government.
