I thought the first Mass Effect was the only true RPG Mass Effect, although even that's pushing it. The next two betrayed Role-playing elements completely in favor of the shooting elements and capitalized too much on mainstream playability as opposed to deep and compelling game design. That's why the 2nd and 3rd Mass Effails received higher scores IMO; because they managed to captivate a larger demographic. But appeal isn't a necessary quality for any game, unless you want to sell more. It's understandable in this economy, but I digress with my original point.
@Dswiss Unfortunately, no. In the eye of the beholder (each of us individually) both gamers and critics are equally flawed and the only opinion that truly matters IS us individually. Gamers are more likely to spout BS on a game because they have far less self control, and they have proven this time and again by giving any game developed by a company they don't like the lowest score they possibly can. Some didn't even play the game, but they do it anyways. Critics always seem to flow in the mainstream. Whatever direction the gaming industry is going, they tend to grade in that direction. That doesn't make critics any better though.
Wow; Nintendo, Sony, MS, the movie industry and a few other gaming companies on the same side vs. Google, Facebook, Mozilla, Twitter and Zynga. This might be the first Internet World War!
Video games have already spawned many, many, many personal topics about someone's faith. They always get fairly complex too. Mature? Not so much, if ever. That's very rare to happen. Actually it's rare enough as it is to see a mature discussion about any topic online with anonymous users. Exceptions are just with people that you know.
