Out of sheer relaxation and calming tunes FF has put out my personal favs are The Place of Memories from IX and The Tomb where the Brothers are in VIII. I have actually fallen asleep while in Memoria :D
I first played Dragon Warrior on the NES and thought ... wow this kinda sucks ... but once Ibought Final Fantasy I was blown away by the story and "awesomly groovystate-of-the-art" graphics. I think I played it about 10 more times until the SNES came out, Then it was all about IV (II) and of course Mystic Quest. Then I went over to Enix's Lufia 2 and RPG's became my gaming career and life.
I agree thatSquareEnixshould stick to RPGs or Action/Adventure. Since Dirge of Cerberus was not a very big hit in the new outbranching shooter genre I think they should try again ... with Yuffie in a Stealth "Splinter Cell - esque" game!!! Dawn some night gogglemask thingiesand sneak around Wutai in training with her Dad on the mountain ... or ... something along those lines. It could be another try in a genre they are't very good at.Or they could have "Dirge of Cerberus II : Ivalice under Fire" staring Balthier!
Taking a hint from previous poster = as far as looks go I'm all about Vaan's White Whorl. Tornados at your finger tips as long as you have the magic. Useful = I'm going for Regen (When bandaids just aren't good enough).
I agree with all of the arise stuff being first but alot of the hunts and espers have status effects so plan accordingly. If they hit you with an effect during the fight...make a gambit to counter it. Like yiazmat has stone and stop so those MUST be in the system when you go for it. I say there is no perfect set up. in general you'll want life giving stuff up top and attack stuff on bottom and the rest is micromanaging for bosses and extras only. I do like his Foe: Flying = Aero (good thinking not having to wait for Telekinesis).
Yuna standing on the Gullwings ship in the Thinder Plains singing 1000 Words ... brings me to tears every time I watch it (or even hear the song on my iTunes)
Final Fantasy X, had just finished catching ALL of the monsters and had a FULL arena when my girl wanted me to show her how to getmovies spheres in Luca on her save file. So I popped her memory card in the second slot loaded her stuff and, like theperson before me, I was used to the button combos to save on the first file of the first memory card. I went from a 160:30 hour uber game (all celestial weapons, full sphere grids, all caught monstersand a 50-0 record in Blitzball) save file down to a whopping 70:00 hours (finished storyline only). I went for a long walk after the initial shock wore off. That was in 2002 and she is still apologizing to meto this day:D Now I just laugh about it because it's all back the way it was before the devestation.
I did the whole VIII and IX cards thing too. The craziest thing I have ever done was play for over18 hours straightto killthe super bosses at once in XII. Hell Wyrm, Yiazmat,Zodiark, Omega Mark XII(in that order) and then fish for a fewhoursjust to finish gettingthe badge I was missing to make a sillysounding, but completely worth your time, sword.
